Karol on the other hand has classics like Provenza, Bichota and Tusa... which is way bigger and more remembered than Con Altura despite being released the same year, for example. Nothing from El Mal Querer stuck, her collabs with the biggest names of the industry were abysmal flops, she's basically what the system wants us to listen to, but we keep saying NO. Nothing from EMQ stuck? Have you even heard that album? And you expect its songs to smash it won AOTY at the Latin Grammys and it was literally an uni project she did, MOTOMAMI won AOTY too, but yeah she’s just the DESPECHÁ girl for the basic girls like you
Trex Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 The US seems to prefer real Latinos instead of colonizers trying to be culture vultures when it’s beneficial

AvadaKedavra Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 (edited) Rosalia music is more experimental and is very hard to understand her sometimes. Como en Saoko es que los españoles usan jerga poco comun en Latinoamerica a veces So many latinos also dont feel like they relate to her that much even when Rosalia is a total sweetheart Even if Rosalia is singin in spanish there's a lot of tension between latinos and spanish people and thats harming her. There's also a lot of disconnect. Spanish people share so many things with us but they also live total different lives to us in Europe. Latinos prefer to support their own people and the ones who were able to live the full latino experience. The bad and the god. We also cant ignore how Karol G has big knowledge of urban music and she knows how to make very catchy hooks. Very strategic artist. Is like comparing Doja Cat and Tinashe. One of them give you more edge-alternativeness but the other one has expertise in the taste of the gen z and hits Personally i love them both. I used to be jealous of them but not anymore. Beautiful ladies and respectful with the Queen Shakira Cant wait to see how they evolve with time. I know karol and rosalia have a big future ahead of them The future of Spanish and Latino music is in good hands. I also love Becky G-Nati Natasha-Anitta.....ETC The Latino female singers from the new gen are very nice and respectful Edited February 27, 2023 by AvadaKedavra
FUTUR3NOSTALGIA Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Karol G is SUPER commercial. And her manager is the same as Bad Bunny’s so…
Slate Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 ROSALÍA will go down as a music legend. The other girl can have her quick hits 1
BrokenMachine Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Being an industry plant can only get you so far. Rosalia was a nobody in the US during EMQ era (the album NEVER charted, and neither of the singles did) and yet she was shoved down everyone's throats. It kinda worked because her numbers for MOTOMAMI got bigger, so I'm guessing it's just a matter of time until she reaches Karol's level

Bloodflowers. Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 Saoko is a song only people who appreciate art can understand
Amaru Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 American saw through the fraud and said no to the chicken teriyaki artiste. Colombian excellence always wins. 1 4
HEAVYONIT Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Because Karol's music is more radio-friendly and commercial, and the US tends to favor Latin American artists over Spanish artists.
period sis Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 It's easy to smash being a Bad Bunny cosplay
Billionaire Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Anyone with Dispo & Ojos Ferrari in their discog is destined for smashery 1
brooklyndaddy Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 A good way to gauge musical success in America: Could you see it playing at the mall/CVS? Karol G: yes Rosalia: no Taste often loses in America

BrokenMachine Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I was about to ask if this thread needs to me done every month, but then I saw somebody bumped this thread from February
rihannasbe$tfrnd Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Not yal comparing Karol G to Dua Lipa baby Karol g is like Zara Larson levels of generic music
LOTF Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Two reasons: 1) USA usually rejects European women (the only exception I can think of is Adele lmao) 2) Rosalía is usually more experimental with her sound, while Karol is more conventional
