Since The Highlights and Dangerous were released, Drake has had 3 eras (Certified Lover Boy, Honestly Nevermind, and now Her Loss) come and go. Well all his hits count towards the highlights, it’s gonna kill his studio albums tho
Protocol Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 This is just further confirmation of what we already know, as far as music goes there is basically no mainstream in America anymore, just fragmented markets. SZA, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift are going to have the Top 3 albums of the year each appealing to a totally different audience and playing on completely different radio formats. Karol G represents the Latin demographic. Outside of that, hardly anyone knows who she is or knows any of her songs. But within it she's a superstar. Same goes for Morgan in country music. Only the rare superstar like Miley will get a cross demographic hit.

That combined with the fact that there are 70 million latinos living in the US... the result is Latin music being more popular than ever in the US
Superbitch Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Jlomigentelatino.gif omg! Karol!! Princesa del pop she deserves that #1

Isn’t it better that 3 different demographics get success instead of Pop which has been the dominant force for the past 10-15 years?

Selegend Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Karol G deserves to be #1. A female spanish album #1 on bb200, would be amazing. SOS already stayed 10 weeks. I don't even listen to Karol G at all despite TUSA but she deserves it, rooting for her.
Youtakemehigher Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 If anyone from the US wants a copy of karol’s album on itunes i’ll gift it to you just send me your email address let’s help our latina princess get to #1 and make history
DoubleRainbow! Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 I'm afraid Karol´s team didn't do anything to get the #1 in the US and the tracks are already falling hard on AM and Spotify The album is stable at #1 on AM and TQG is performing better than expected tho

rta1913 Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 I bought a copy yesterday (the one with the alternate cover art). She deserves it for Provenza alone. But yes I don't think her team expected any of this. Not a single performance or any US-based promo.
