blown away Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 (edited) Good numbers for her debut. Stripped, and also Back To Basics, deserved more success than they got though. Both A+ albums. For Liberation she got what she deserved. Who the hell releases Accelerate as the lead (or even altogether) when Like I Do was sitting just there. Edited February 19, 2023 by blown away Typo

All Spanish-language albums certified prior to 2008 were updated to match the current certification at the time.[18][19] "La Bomba" by Bolivian group Azul Azul is the only single to receive a Latin certification based on shipments before the creation of the Latin digital singles awards in 2013.[20] The Disco de Diamante award was introduced after the RIAA updated the thresholds for Latin certifications on December 20, 2013. The Disco de Diamante is awarded to Latin albums that have been certified 10× Platinum.[21][22] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIAA_certification

Like Mi Gente is 68x platinum.

This highlights how important it is to deeply analyze each album rather than doing overall gross assumptions that may led to notable mistakes." https://chartmasters.org/understanding-music-clubs-album-sales/9/ The advertisement you posted happens to be from 2002. CA was never available during the first 2-3 years of its release. By the time it finally became available, club sales had pretty much died. So my point still stands. it probably sold an extra 5K copies or something. It's clearly not eligible for Diamond no matter how many times Fighters lie to themselves. If RCA bothered to re-certify Back to Basics and Stripped for their respective anniversaries why didn't they do the same for CA? Who wouldn't want to be able to boast about a Diamond album? It's okay though. Maybe in 8 years if those recurrent streams are anything to go by. Not you replying to me with another source by the exact same person with the original ukmix thread (People saying it's wrong at the last page) Chartmasters article? Girl, you can literally see "2002" in the advertisement you posted - not to mention a bunch of albums that came out in 2001 Find me a receipt of CA being available at Columbia House in 1999 and then we'll talk.
La Reina Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Anticipating can't enjoy its fave cause it is too busy entering every Xtina thread. Anyways, Liberation deserved better. Christina Aguilera and Mi Reflejo are Diamond and Latin Diamond eligible. Two Diamond albums. Then she followed it up with her most iconic and streamed era, and then followed it up with her most acclaimed era that had her biggest tour.

When u add BMG club sales CA album is at 9.7 million that's more than enough for a diamond certification.

I been following charts since 2004, since before u were hating online. Lots of albums are certified before reaching the actual number. So once again you are wrong 9.7 million is enough for a Diamond cert.
