chosensparkles Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Rihanna’s appearance during halftime of Super Bowl LVII launched a reported 10 million Google searches as curious viewers clamored to find out if the megastar is pregnant (she is), making her performance on that floating stage all the more impressive. But she didn’t prove as big a draw as last year’s Super Bowl halftime performers, led by Dr. Dre. Early numbers from Samba TV, a TV technology company that provides real-time analytics, found that Rihanna’s audience was slightly smaller than last year. About 28.5 million households tuned in to the Barbadian singer’s performance Sunday evening, compared to 28.7 million who watched Dre and an all-star supporting cast during last year’s show. The smaller audience is a bit surprise in light of early numbers for the big game. It appears to be up versus last year, with 36.7 million households viewing the contest between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. That’s up from 36.5 million the previous year. https://www.forbes.com/sites/tonifitzgerald/2023/02/13/rihanna-super-bowl-halftime-show-draws-285-million-households-less-than-last-year/?sh=3083ea8e387b

Hector Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 We don't use Samba TV for network/live TV. Wait for Nielsen.
WitnessOblivia Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Maybe radical minimalism wasn't a good choice then!

Kinda dragging her a bit Rih has been consistently noted for lacking certain drawing power in this way e.g. debuts/peaks/tickets etc She did look good in that red suit though
BILLIONAIRE✘BOY Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 She didn't do anything worth observing.
perfillusion Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 (edited) No album announcement. Super underwhelming iTunes boost. The worst Halftime show in history. Ratings flopping hard. It’s what she deserves Edited February 13, 2023 by perfillusion
ariesgroove Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 (edited) i will never understand the big hullabaloo around ratings falling for big events yearly like it’s not 2023 and most people don’t have cable anymore Edited February 13, 2023 by ariesgroove
Cheers Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 A 0.2 difference is nothing major. No one uses cable anymore.

PoisonCandy Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 The ratings were effortlessly muted in a way that only Rihanna can with her skillfully restrained performance.
