VARIETY: ‘Gladiator 2’ Stunt Accident Leaves Several Crew Members Injured (EXCLUSIVE)

Several crew members were injured on the Morocco set of the sequel to “Gladiator” on June 7 while filming a stunt sequence for the action film. 

“While filming a planned stunt sequence on the set of the ‘Gladiator’ sequel, an accident occurred during which several crew members experienced non-life-threatening injuries,” a spokesperson for Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the film, said in a statement. “The safety and full medical services teams on-site were able to act quickly so that those who were impacted immediately received necessary care. They are all in stable condition and continue to receive treatment.” 

A total of six people received treatment, four of whom remain in the hospital. All of the impacted crew members were treated for burn injuries, according to an individual with knowledge of the production. Two other crew members were treated locally and then discharged. The accident occurred towards the end of the shooting day. No cast members were harmed.

Trailer is completely whelming. The budget is all on screen yes, but I'm not getting the buzz from this so far. The music is so off. 

 

Gladiator is one of my favourite films ever. But it captures lightning in a bottle, magic. I don't see that being replicated here. 

 

This feels like another fumble from Ridley Scott.

whoever was in charge of this trailer needs to be FIRED asap

you really have to be extremely out-of-touch to link contemporary music with Gladiator. i actually low key thinks the entire team behind this trailer are racists. i'm sorry but putting rap music because the trailer mainly focus on Denzel Washington is a racial bias. there i said it. if i were him i'd be MAD

 

where is the music of Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard that made the first movie so otherworldly? i'm sorry but the music of the first movie is so good that it represents 50% of the reason why it's such a masterpiece. Russell Crowe wasn't lying when he said that the script of first movie was rubbish but it was saved by many other aspects where it excelled like no other,  music being one of them.

It's not just the music, I feel like something else feels... off. Like the trailer seems somewhat outdated in a bad way for how it's actually edited and it progresses. it lacks that sense of majesty and epicity the original had. If they cut it shorter and included less dialogue scenes probably it would've had another impact on me.

Really hope this doesn't reflect the quality of the film.

Y'all, this guy edited the trailer and put different music behind it (I think his own composition inspired by the Battle theme from Gladiator, it's very amateur but it's actually not bad) and it works so much better.

and some people look a lil too pretty/hunger games capitol-esque

I'll probably watch because I like Paul and Pedro… but yes, I think they're advertising this film so wrong.  Unless this really encapsulates what it's gonna be
