Welcome, Loba, to Round 15 of Survivor: ATRL Edition (Season 13)! Congratulations on making it to the final six!

Individual immunity is back up for grabs.

 

The theme for Round 15 is...

The Emoji Experiment!

 

This round, you'll be defining emojis using songs. There will be four emojis to define. For each emoji, you must choose a track you feel defines that emoji's general message/use. It's important you're not too literal with all the emojis. For example, in season 5, the castaways were given the peach emoji. Most everyone caught on that that emoji is used to depict big booties and sent in songs related to that. This may not apply to every emoji but do keep that in mind when selecting tracks.

 

There are no explanations this round. Your songs will speak for themselves like in the pre-merge rounds. For that reason, it's best not to be super mysterious this round. That doesn't mean you can't do something a little different for a emoji, but your song should still be clearly related to the emoji depicted. 

 

All we need you to do is submit 4 songs (song/artist) WITH the Spotify links for each one, making it clear which song applies to which emoji. Don't format at all because we will be formatting this round like the MC round where each of your songs is posted along your fellow castaway's songs for that portion.

 

You may see an emoji and think you have the perfect song in mind for that specific emoji. Well, you may only submit your entry with all four tracks chosen. This is to avoid you all rushing to submit one song you want for sure and then compiling the rest of your tracks later. And no, this doesn't mean you can submit 4 random tracks with your one desired track snuck in there. We will notice. 

 

Once you submit your tracks, we will get back to you to inform you if you're cleared or if you need to change a song because another contestant already took it. It is a first come first serve basis with selecting tracks.

 

Results will be posted just like in the MC round in which the panel ranks your song selections. The highest overall average after four rounds will win.

 

Below are the emojis you'll be using this round. All of them are from the newly released iOS 16.4, so these will be some fresh and new interpretations for you to ponder!!

6. Till the World Ends (The Femme Fatale Remix) - Puzzling choice, for me.

1. Meghan Trainor - Shook - It fits perfectly ! In production and lyrics.

2. Koda Kumi - Crank Tha Bass - Perfect production that conveyed it well.

3. Britney Spears - Til the world ends remix - Choosing the remix was… an interesting choice ! I don’t understand why “put her in a jungle with bananas on the side” added to the meaning of the emoji but nevertheless, somewhat of a clever entry.

4. Shawn Desman - Shook - Meh.

5. Tyler the creator - Earfquake - lousy production and lyrics that actually convey the exact opposite meaning of the song. No idea what happened here.

6. Ava Max - OMG What’s Happening - Its a no for me. The title made me think “ooo this is gonna work well” but then I listened to the lyrics and it had like nothing to do with the emoji

 

Rotunda

1. Shook (Meghan) - I think the production puts this a bit above Shawn

2. Shook (Shawn) - Valid choice

3. EARFQUAKE - Probably where my mind immediately went when the round was announced. I think the warbly vocals give off the vibe of being shaken up, but it’s missing some intensity.

4. TTWE REMIX - I think this works more for the Nicki parts than the rest

5. Crank Tha Bass - Once you get past the production there’s not much here that screams this emoji 

6. OMG - If I had to assign an emoji to this song, it wouldn’t be this minus the general refrain of “OMG What’s Happening”

1. EARFQUAKE - This is one of the first songs I thought of when I saw the emoji

2. Meghan Trainor - Shook - The emoji definitely looks shook, song fits the vibe to me.

3. Shawn Desman - Shook - The emoji definitely looks shook, fits the narrative in my head.
4. Britney - TTWE remix - I actually love this remix but Big Fat Bass might have been better with this emoji, the bass on this song and hectic vibes of it work though

5. Kumi Koda - The bass fits.

6. Ava Max - OMG - I think the title works well with the emoji and some of the lyrics but this is the lightest sounding song here and fits least in my fantasy sorry.

Yes. This is final 6. Everyone should have locked in their final 3 by now. But yeah, it’s hard to know your final 3 plan is right or wrong. There are so many variables to consider for but my adopted mother, Parvati Shallow used to tell me that when the game almost reach to the end, I need to look at the other people who’s still in the game and ask myself, who will most likely get my vote to win. Then I need to vote out that person immediately.
