• Rina Sawayama - XS - Simple and effective but thats all it took to really catch my attention cause I was wondering what the **** it was.
• Raye - Oscar Winning Tears - Cute little spoken word moment it really wasn’t anything that would make me come back to the song to hear it again but yeah.
• ROSALÍA - Saoko - I thought this was a pokemon out in the wild trying to grab my attention and no I did catch it with my pokeball.
• Zara Larsson - Love Me Land - This didn’t land for me I will not be booking a flight back to Love Me Land.
• SZA - Forgiveless (feat. Ol' Dirty Bastard) - It’s a chop for me and just reminded me why I don’t listen to this song when I’m going through the album.
• Tinashe - Save Room For Us - She sounds gorgeous but for me it just doesn’t stand out as an intro to a song but like a verse.
• SZA - Good Days - This fits the fairytale fantasy I have going on in my head. It captured me without her saying a word.
• Beverly - 尊い   - Jessie J & Xtina rubbing off on these girls coming in hot with a scream. Caught my attention for sure I’ll say that.
• Kali Uchis - All Mine - This is my first time ever listening to this artist even though I always see her name around. A stunning intro from her tbh I was fully encapsulated and really got lost in what I was hearing. Great choice tbh.
• Rina Sawayama - Snakeskin - I think this is the better Rina entry this round and even though it’s a bit lengthy I enjoyed it.
• Cassandra Jenkins - Hard Drive - I was bored. I'm sorry.
• Beyoncé - Brown Skin Girl  - It’s an intro that's about all I can say.
• FKA Twigs - papi bones (feat. Shygirl) - Literally I’m like okay the beat is HOT and the man comes on interrupting it I’m like oh boo. I didn’t really like

Critiques

• Rina Sawayama - XS - Absolutely brilliant intro. It has so many subtle layers and sounds that don’t really remind me of any other song or intro I’ve heard otherwise. The most powerful aspect of this intro is that it gives you such a shock at the end. You have no idea what you’re getting yourself into… the metal guitar breakdown smashing right into 2001 Britney-pop? Fantastic.
• Raye - Oscar Winning Tears - The intro to me feels like it only lasts 9/10 seconds. The second half feels like it’s the first verse, which we asked you to avoid. Altogether, it’s nothing to write home about. 
• ROSALÍA - Saoko - It’s definitely not bad. I think it’s an engaging enough pick, if not a bit sparse. It does its job of making you say… hmm what’s coming next?
• Zara Larsson - Love Me Land - Happy 2nd anniversary to Poster Girl!! This is a really fun intro. It sets the tone for the song (and the album) with some disco and drama.
• SZA - Forgiveless (feat. Ol' Dirty Bastard) - I feel like this intro suffers a bit due to how long it is compared to the entire song. It’s a pretty big percentage (like 25%). The sample is effective and sets the vibe well though.
• Tinashe - Save Room For Us - Very pretty and melodic. Tinashe did what she had to do. I love the echo-ing production and the subtle spoken voice in the background. My problem here is that it feels more like a verse than an intro. So IDK how to rank this tbh.
• SZA - Good Days - This is an exquisite example of an intro that is quiet and reflective, yet impactful. The production is celestial, mystical, ethereal, impeccable. It embodies the Winnie ascending GIF. Amazing choice.
• Beverly - 尊い   - The anthesis to Good Days! This is effective for its own reasons. Her powerful vocals definitely intrigue me. The production isn’t anything super special to me, but I think it’s solid.
• Kali Uchis - All Mine - Loving this entry bc I don’t really know her music. This has me quite intrigued to listen to more! I love how the production feels kind of wet and contrasts with the harsher percussion. Her vocals are beautiful as well. Great pick!
• Rina Sawayama - Snakeskin - She was insane for this song as a whole. The intro is so unique and special. I get hype every time I hear it tbh. I think it might be a BIT lengthy that it loses its effectiveness a bit at the end, but still a top entry for me this round.
• Cassandra Jenkins - Hard Drive - Quite a philosophical introduction. I thought it was kind of cool, but it didn’t really motivate me to keep listening. 
• Beyoncé - Brown Skin Girl  - This one jumps out of the playlist with charm and character. Blue Ivy’s youthful voice helps cement its uniqueness. I don’t love that it’s basically just the complete chorus, instead of its own unique section. 
• FKA Twigs - papi bones (feat. Shygirl) - Definitely a unique intro, but I think it actually kind of inspires me to listen to the song less. The length of this detracts from the repeatability factor and ultimately feels unnecessary. The song could start with FKA’s verse at 0:40.
