Gabriel Guedes Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 We better do something, we can't really count on RCA and we can't let this go to waste. Streaming parties, let's go
HeavyMetalAura Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 This album is gonna bomb bomb, huh? Oh well. I applaud her for trying something new, and hey, Miley's pulling Adele numbers, Britney charted for 6 months, Bebe and Shakira have huge hits in the US... it's not over for her or for anyone. But it is a shame that the public is this uninterested in her right now
Liafen Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 I wonder whats RCA's problem though. Its not like the budget isn't there (more-than-decent videos) or they don't want to hype her (booking performance and interview slots). Seems more like they just don't know how essential playlisting and streaming promo is nowadays.

It's just her team or RCA doesn't want to invest in playlist promotion for her.

Labels are historically hands-off when an artist is departing. Similarly, if she's on some kind of "legacy deal" that isn't a 360 deal, I can see them being "meh" with her releases. Or if she renegotiated so their role is more "distribution label services", that's another reason they may be hands-off. Could be good ol' fashioned ageism, but in a world where the Beyonce's and Shakira's are managing to get top 10s, it's ironically the one I think it may not be the case.
Xtripped Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 I love this and the music video is very meaningful. Wish her the best with this new single. Go Pinksus!
BlackoutZone Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 (edited) this is the first song from her I liked in so many years, Robyn possessed her! Edited January 28, 2023 by BlackoutZone

I believe this is her last album under the current contract, which she signed back in 2012. You'd think they would promote the hell out of it so she could succeed and sign with them, since they're doing their job, but that just isn't hapoening.

This could be the case, and I'll never forgive how they did dirty to Alicia Keys last album with them. Keys is a solid album with some very high quality tracks like Nat King Cole, Is It Insane and Only You. It didn't deserve that hard flop.
Anonimate Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 you guys are letting me dream about a possible exit from RCA
Braz Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Pink is "old" now too and the US has dropped her. They need to focus on Europe and regain Australia. The best we can hope is a CMIS sized hit but I even doubt that.
Mke1979 Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 (edited) I don't think her label is "done" with her or that she is too old to make an impact in the US. Her impact here is colossal. The label sees her as a touring artist. Her upcoming Summer Carnival tour tickets are selling out and the ones that are left are extremely expensive. She has many hits to keep her afloat whether this single/album succeeds like her others or not. I did not like or resonate with Never Gonna Not Dance Again at all and was a little embarrassed for her that she even put that out. A big step back for a first single. Now this song Trustfall is amazing! It should have been the first official single. Edited January 28, 2023 by Mke1979
