RihFenty20 Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 (edited) I live like 20 mins from my job, yet I’m always late. My reasoning is I don’t want to give them any of MY time. I’m already there all day, two minutes extra is two minutes to many. Edited January 18, 2023 by RihFenty20
Raphy23 Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Yes lol. I walk into work right at 9am which is when I'm supposed to start. I live 5mins from work but I am not a morning person at all.

Taste of Honey Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Not now since I work from home, but I remember my first real job. I would start at 8 and many days I wouldn’t even leave the house until then. My boss didn’t get there until 8:30 anyways so they never knew.

As long as your in the door before 8 you're good. Don't give them any of your time

Golden Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 I struggle and I start at 9.30 lol. Usually in 15 mins late.

It honestly depends where you work I guess. I manage a restaurant and I’m there around 5:15am everyday but I stay extra all the time. i really don’t see any issue unless someone is waiting on you. I’m not missing anything by coming in 10 minutes later than when we open.
Archetype Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 I work remotely and don’t have set hours, so I can basically start my work whenever I want and just make sure I join whichever meetings I’m part of and finish my work on time and at a high quality. Sometimes I’ll sleep later in the mornings and work in a few 2-3 hour intense blocks throughout the day so I also have time to eat, relax, nap, etc. I guess the difference is that when I’m fully focused and working, I work at least 3x faster than a normal person in my role. The only real slowdowns are meetings or waiting on others for something.

Headlock Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 My anxiety about being late doesn’t allow me to even consider it, I’m always at least 30min early, I need a breather to sit down and allow my heart rate to level out lmao Plus then you can be situated and relaxed, grab something to eat, and start fresh and ready and not frazzled running in at the last minute. Also one of my jobs is technically 9-5 but it’s in research and my boss is very hands-off so I make my own hours, as long as I get my work done he doesn’t care when I’m there, I could start work at midnight for all he cares lol. I usually work 7-3 anyways, but some days I’ll work 3 hours and the next 12, it depends on what we’re doing, and I always end up with at least 40 hours a week, if not more. My other job is a strict 8-9 hour shift that I always am early for, especially because we hit the ground running at shift start.

I usually only have one day off and I even work that sometimes. tbh it doesn’t help that I smoke a lot. I’m usually sitting on my bed at 5am hitting my pen. I have to make sure I’m high enough before I go to work. I know, I know, nothing to be proud of either. lol
Delirious Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 (edited) I'm ALWAYS late Late to primary school, high school literally everyday and on-time exactly for appointments and sometimes even a few mins late Edit: I was also 25mins late to the Australia version of the SAT test and still managed still finish it and get the top band If I was late by 30mins I wouldn't have been able to take the test Edited January 18, 2023 by Delirious

So I have plenty of time to do whatever I want in the morning before work. I do get extremely tired after it's dark, though. By 9:30 pm I'm already in bed. This is my definition of hell
Badgalbriel Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 1 minute ago, Raptus said: This is my definition of hell Why? There's literally nothing productive to do at night while if you go to the gym at 6am for example you have the gym all for yourself, you have time to get back home and have breakfast with your man, you leave for work at 8 having already accomplished things you should do. You get home at night and you have nothing to do other than cuddle, have sex and sleep.
Cannon Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 I struggle getting to work fifteen minutes late. My work schedule today was supposed to start at 7:00 but I didn’t get to the office until 8:30. I hate going to bed early and I have a hard time waking up in the morning, so I’m not sure how to change.
Smarticle Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Yes, but I've been a little better after high school I think, having to be on time for class at 7:15 was a CHORE senior year Depends on the boss really, but sometimes I come in a few minutes late cause I KNOW I'm gonna stay there longer than the lateness

XxxKatyCatxxX Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 In the past, yes. I hated my previous job and I was always 5 minutes late.
Unreachable101 Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Nope - i’m usually the first ones in the office. I leave the house 7.30am and it takes me 45mins door to door for a 8.30 start
Mr.Link Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I would never work anywhere I have to be at a specific time in a specific place #sorrynotsorry
Bubble Tea Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Can't say I do but for sure everyone has their off days. I make my overnight oats the night before and a shot of stovetop espresso to make an iced latte in the morning, and by the time I've downed that I'm ready to cycle to work.
Anye Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 My work start at 7.20 but I woke up at 6.50. I am fast at getting ready and live close to where I work. I have no trouble waking up since 6.50 isn’t that early.
