All the reminiscing we're doing in this thread brings me back to when Warrior leaked. If anyone else was there, just remember how messy it was. We got the songs one by one in like 20 different qualities from insanely LOW quality to like medium quality at best and they were all censored.

 

I remember when the uncensored HQ finally leaked, it still felt brand new and fresh listening to everything in full despite hearing it through potatoes for like a day.

 

I lowkey miss those kind of leaks because it brought everyone together.

I used to love Animal but I’ve since outgrown that kind of sound. Don’t get me wrong, I still bop my ass off to TIO, PAARDH and Backstabber, but that kind of ARTPOP/Bionic electropop sound is something I have to be in a certain mood for nowadays, whereas Rainbow and Warrior have several songs that have become timeless classics to me.

I actually agree with this honestly (although I’d throw in Honey too, those two songs kinda do nothing for me). The other 14 songs I all enjoy in one way or another and when you look at it, it’s a very diverse collection of songs. I’ve personally never really understood the disappointment with the album. Maybe it wasn’t a super cohesive or well mixed piece, or just wasn’t what certain people were expecting or hoping for, but I really enjoy the songs and genuinely think some of them are among her best ever in their own regards (Raising Hell is one of my favourite pop songs from her, Tonight is one of her best party songs, Resentment/Cowboy Blues/Father Daughter Dance are absolutely some of her best ballads ever, and Chasing Thunder/Summer are some of her best folk and country inspired music)

For all the terrible things surrounding the making and subsequent release of Warrior, it is a really really strong record in my opinion. I honestly don't think I could rank them all. I still remember hearing Tik Tok on the radio and becoming instantly obsessed with Kesha. I tried finding anything I could on her (which was somewhat difficult in the very early days lol). Around that time I had just gotten my own iTunes account and as soon as the Animal pre-order dropped I was tremendously giddy to make my first purchase. Side note: my best friend at the time and I got to middle school early on release day so we could listen to it together before classes started lol 

 

Needless to say, I've enjoyed each era thoroughly and am sure Gag Order will be no exception. I genuinely believe this record could serve as another creative peak! I've really appreciated all the descriptions from people who have heard it already, my hype is through the roof!

That’s true it didn’t age very well but at the time it had such a hold on me

The mention of the one by one censored leaks brought back so much memory  i still remember when the title track started leaking oh my god 

 

i also remember absolutely disliking the songs because of the censors LMAO I wanted to hear her swear!! I was soooo pumped to buy the actual CD for the uncensored versions

I'm also in the minority because Tonight and My Own Dance might be some of the songs I play the most yet the majority seem to hate them lol

Yeah, the hate for High Road is head-scratching. Tonight, My Own Dance, Raising Hell, Birthday Suit, and Kinky are classic Kesha. And they sound way less dated than the production on Animal and Cannibal.

Tonight especially is very bold so I can kinda try to understand why people maybe wouldn’t love these songs… but that’s boring for them and their loss tbh
