Cliff Goldmacher, co-writer of the unreleased songs below, calls Kesha a "true devotee of her songwriting craft" in a new article.

I need them to release an EP with everything they worked on together with Kesha as a main vocalist. Even if they're rerecorded or reworked.

And another one!

American rapper Flo Milli (born 2000) names Kesha as one of her influences (12:14).

Honestly Animal is such an under-appreciated album, and its impact on pop music all throughout the 10s and now is still evident. It was a fully realised, cohesive, collection of bangers, that were fully of personality, cheekiness and humour in a way that no other female was doing at the time. Plus she has always been one of the most down-to-earth, real, unproblematic, weirdo, gay-loving pop-stars, so it’s good to see her getting some recognition from her younger peers. Would love to see some more collabs!!!

It’s crazy to me that it’s her lowest (I think) reviewed album on metacritic when to me, it’s probably my favourite (along with Gag Order). Those who get it get it I guess.

That's just how critics were at the time, a lot of female pop albums from that era are panned. Critics were much more ruthless back in the day.

Pitchfork re-reviewed Animal in 2021 and then gave it her highest score of 7.2, so there's definitely a retroactive appreciation for it.

As they should!

I feel like if it was released today (obviously with a more ‘current’ sound sonically) it would be highly acclaimed

I mean Guts is definitely Animal-coded and it’s one of the highest scored albums of the year.

Hot take:

Contrary to popular belief, Animal actually aged like a fine wine.

Despite the widespread "dated production" argument, Animal maintains an irresistible charm even 13 years later because its whole overall concept and vibe are still unique to this day - there is no second Animal in the pop landscape.

Kesha's radiant personality and Kesha-ness on every song outshines even the most early 2010'd production choices.

I don't think it's a coincidence at all that artists claiming to be influenced by Kesha are suddenly shooting up like mushrooms and multiple album tracks from this era went viral as well as the bolded part.

I believe the retroactive appreciation for Kesha's early output will only grow over time.

Let’s hope, she deserves her flowers for sure, but I feel like every era I get my hopes up the stars will align and she’ll have some kind of resurgence so I will remain cautiously optimistic about what’s to come

That was totally expected. The Grammys - at least the general categories - are all about commercial success and Gag Order didn’t have any, so it never had any actual chances to be nominated.

Its only shot would have been Best Alternative Album, but that was doomed as soon as Kesha shared the screenshot of it only being considered for the pop categories.

If this was a contest about quality, Gag Order would have received multiple nominations.

Seeing which artists won Grammys in recent years and which ones didn’t, I‘m personally not as upset anymore as back when she lost in 2018.

the original tiktok is going viral and the comments are siding against her, some said the point of backup dancers is to allow for the main performer to deliver a great show. I saw a bunch of ppl in the comments who claimed they attended the show and they said she was awkward / stiff. Theres edits of this tiktok and they put wood creaking noises as the audio. and people seem to dislike the live renditions of her songs, especially ylimd seems to be a fan favorite but always gets butchered now

its camp to me though but im forever a delulu stan 😭 but im curious to see how this reception from casual fans / gp who gave her a chance this tour will effect her future tour attendance going forward

We really don‘t care. Let‘s re-enter the real world where this largely sold out tour has received great reviews across the board. Kesha has never been known for “choreography“ and nobody is going to a Kesha show for that.

Also, leave Rick Rubin alone, please.

You literally said Kesha “lied“ about Katy Perry in that other thread, ain‘t no one believing you‘re a stan.

Bye!

I am in the real world though.. real fans / gp tiktok opinions matters.. more than any review site, attend the tour yourself to form your own opinions. It's not just the choreography, she keeps butchering her best songs. Go on tiktok and read the reception for this tour for yourself, I'm not lying.

And the tickets for the tour are literally free as part of my T-mobile tuesday rewards as we speak..

you're just being unnecessarily rude.. bye

Ain‘t no one give a damn about some random Tik Tok with 15 comments :deadbanana:…please grow up. She didn‘t ”butcher“ anything either and you‘re the first person to complain about that.

This tour is successful and well-received and you just can‘t take it for some reason, so good riddance!

Going out of your way to go into an artist you clearly don’t like’s album thread just to neg her and her fans when literally no one in here cares about what your posting is giving Alfred levels of delulu hunni.
