This still has a chance to peak higher with the vinyls so:jamming:

It doesn't, this was its streaming peak, she's not gonna sell +5k vinyls

Mte. I think they’re playing the long game with this one

Welp, at least she might re-peak around #140 when the vinyls ship.

Exactly i don't think outside of that week the vinyls ship this will keep charting but i hope she keeps promoting and putting out vids and content so the next release do better

Spoiler

That and the fact that i want a The Drama MV:clownny:

Charts aren't that big of a deal, its just about getting stuff out so she can tour and start getting festival bookings again. She's basically in the same lane as like Tinashe/Tove Lo/Bebe Rexha now where none of their albums are gonna crack the top 100 anytime soon (even if they are coming off a decent hit like Bebe was).

Oh I was expecting top 50 :jonnycat:

Album is decent with a few stinkers. Hate Me Harder, The Drama, Eat the Acid, and Happy are smashes though

arts not the charts :clap3:she's an alt girl now

Is sad how career on life support, which Luke thriving :weeps:

This album is literally a flawless masterpiece and I have faith that in time it will be appreciated for the absolute gem it is, but we need OLCSUN as a single NOW and get some 14 year olds on tik tok to make a dance or something b/c sis needs the promo. :rip:

I was literally gonna say yesterday that I wouldn’t even be shocked if she didn’t chart but was holding out some kind of hope that she would be just outside the Top 100 :ahh:

Oh well. Phenomenal album and I hope it has “legs” for her

The visualizer for OLCSUN was good, but I'm not sure if they scrapped the visualizer in favor of filming a video. I wonder why they haven't released that one or the one for "Living in My Head".

Her low debut has everything to do with lack of promo and bad marketing. Hopefully after the litigation is over, she goes on to speak freely on talk shows, does podcast tours, and maybe releases a book.

She didn’t deserve such horrific charting and sales 😢 Honestly, she delivered everything on her end but the promo etc. was basically non-existent. If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound etc.

As unfortunate and undeserved 8k sales are, this is not going to be the end of the story since this album can not be viewed in isolation from the yet unknown unfolding of events that will begin in less than 2 months.

I think it's almost a given that this whole album will be re-evaluated publicly and (re-)enter public awareness depending on the outcome of the lawsuit (regardless of what the current numbers are) because the two clearly go hand-in-hand.

That doesn't mean that it will suddenly do much commercially, but I don't think that being a commercial flop will be all that remains of this album when it's all said and done.

Wait so I’m guessing the appeals didn’t go in Kesha’s favour since they’re now having to go to trial?

No, we don't have that decision yet.

I was just talking generally based on how things stand at the moment (regardless of the appeals) since the trial date is fixed already.

I thought the appeals were meant to be announced over the last couple of weeks?

Yes (with a likelihood of 90%), but we ended up being part of the other 10% and therefore have to wait two more weeks.

They’re not playing any game. Vinyl are out for the fans next month, then we get the tour and she is free from the contract with an album that makes a statement closing this chapter of her life.

I reckon there’s even a bigger chance that RCA represses Rainbow on colored vinyl for some coins than promoting Gag Order.

Upsetting. But I won’t give up. I still believe in this album. Or whatever Bebe Rexha said.

At least in Kesha's case she wasn't trying to make commercially successful music.

I agree though, there's still plenty of time for this album to have its moment. Its just too good to completely flop into oblivion.

Upsetting. But I won’t give up. My career was built on failures and not following the mold. I won’t stop.
I never have and never will. I still believe in this album. And I still will push. No matter what.

Yeah the era is done. It’s also not fair to blame the label for everything because at the end of the day they funded an amazing album with great visuals. It’s just that since 2017 nothing was made to build a profile. Quite the contrary actually, every decision her team made was bad and they had no long-term strategy and operated on a cash-grab formula.

The record not being in store is not an excuse. Yeah the sales wouldn’t have been this disastrous but 187 just shows that her brand is simply hit at its core.
