cyclone Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 (edited) HAPPY.. this whole situation showing us Kesha is the queen of album closers... i'm speechless at how she keeps outdoing herself OK we see you The queen has returned.. (I will post my FULL cyclone review when i finish listening!) Edited May 19, 2023 by cyclone
youmustbeupgraded Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 (edited) My top 3 on first listen are Something to Believe In, Hate me Harder, and the DRAMA. The drama is sooooo good. I could hear it being played in a movie. Peace & Quit is sooooo cool too not only love can save us now being in the bottom for me most of the album tracks being better than the singles Edited May 19, 2023 by youmustbeupgraded

I think it’s a great body of work, but when I look at something like Rainbow where all songs stand on their own, this feels like each song sort of fits together but on their own, each song doesn’t really take me on a journey or a mood without context of each other. But this versatility and individual charisma for each song was the whole theme of the album (Rainbow) itself and not simply an artistic choice. The breadth of the record reflects the rainbow it is supposed to showcase. The whole premise of this album is different because it’s genesis is not breadth, but depth. It reveals the unvarnished truth of Kesha‘s state of mind in a way none of her previous albums did, so this degree of cohesiveness and recurring themes/emotions is a feature of the album itself (and not a bug). That doesn’t necessarily have to be everyone’s personal preference, but it makes perfect sense in the context of the album. 1 1
youmustbeupgraded Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 that "ooooh hoooo ooooh" on peace and quiet is that miss Kesha?!
youmustbeupgraded Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Hate me Harder coming for Prayings wig vocally!

ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted May 19, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted May 19, 2023 A really ambitious album with mixed results. I kinda don’t like it but I do. There are parts to each song I like though. An improvement over HR and rainbow for sure though. She should have scrapped HMH though, that was ass. ill relisten and give it some time to marinate
bearman Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 I hated the Hate Me Harder demo but there is something about the album version that truly pulls you in. Her vocals are great and I love how the production has all these slight attack and releases.
