So happy for both Miley and Shakira. both hard working musicians and as down to earth as u can get for a celebrity.

feels good seeing shakira charting in spanish after all the work she put in to break into the english-language music industry, and a reflection of how she made it more inclusive to latino artists.  :clap3::heart2:

Two 30+ yr old women decades into their career debuting top 10 with songs dragging cheating exes! Great start to the new year

Y’all really need to stop acting like it’s hard for women in their early 30s to smash, it’s not and never has been.

It’s the 40s where they struggle, Miley is in no way in the same boat as Shakira.

-

Ageism is becoming irrelevant in the streaming era with Beyoncé, Britney, Nicki and now Shakira getting Top 10 hits in their 40s.

Will be interesting to see if they can smash in their late 40s/early 50s like Madonna, Cher and Tina.

Will Britney be able to do it with her first single tho? Hold me Closer streams are not good at all and it's a very radio driven single.

Yeah first single will probably go Top 10 due to comeback hype then plummet down the charts like every single she’s released since 2011 :skull:

In the US it’s expected this will be Shakiras first top 10 in over 10 years still impressive for her.

These 4 songs are the top 4 on todays top hits (not really in that order) and are all smashing on the hot 100.  I think the Illuminati is trying to tell us something.

Hahaha 😆! But, the Flowers v Kill Bill could turn out to be a smaller version of Uptown Funk v Thinking Out Loud. TOL was a huge hit but had the misfortune of getting stuck behind UF, arguably the biggest all time song when combining real & chart history points together. Any other week without UF or See You Again (& maybe Bad Bloods week) TOL would've reached #1. Remember TOL actually beat SYA for #2 YE 2015 & went 12×Platinum/1.2×Diamond (Feb '19). But UF is probably Double Diamond eligible by now (still stuck at 11×P/1.1×D since Oct '16 😡 ).

I remember watching the TOL/UF! Chart battle in real time.

EIGHT weeks, EIGHT!!! at #2 :ahh:

That song could have been #1 for several months if it wasn't competing against that juggernaut. I felt so bad for Ed, especially because he hadn't scored a #1 hit yet :toofunny2:
