JBJT2786 Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 The Oscar's being the only one with more than 10M viewers . Is streaming factored into these?

Into The Void Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Sounds about right and people said the VMAs are irrelevant when there's much worse lol
Punky Rooster Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 The fact that the US has 20+ award shows!

Some award shows are entertaining and a big part of pop culture. Nothing wrong with caring for those moments or rooting for your fave artists/movies/arts to get some regconization. For me a boring life would be you dont care about anything at all, everything is just like whatever. But somehow that mindset become trendy , lol. Its kinda ironic how some still log in to a pop culture forum everyday but still always "oh who cares"

Sometimes I find myself having the same opinion as the above poster, but I realise that not caring about anything would just result in life being boring

I watch acceptance speeches if artists I care for won, but I am not wasting life on 3 hours award show with vapid celebrities, that is more sad to waste time of your life on watching that boring mess. I care for a lot of things, awards ain't one

Anyway, good for you that you dont care about this stuff, everyone have their own reference. But dont ruin the fun and trashing other people hobbies. For you its boring and sad. For somes its fun and exciting.

Have a blessed day! xoxo 1
harwee Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 These are actually good numbers. Its Nielsen and how everything is measured is outdated.
Dr. Alexander Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 The viewership would would be triple the amount for each show if they were streamed online. It’s very rare for someone to have cable TV anymore.
Feanor Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 Updated the OP with the most recent viewership numbers. With how the Grammys and Golden Globes have had significant increases this year, I think the Oscars have a really good shot at surpassing 20M+, which would be massive for today's standards.

That wasn't helpful to get tv viewers
