SHITTY SNOT BALLS and QWEEF DONG bringing down the cast down so hard that Gala Varo is giving Matraka levels of excellence this time around by comparison.

Drag Race might be way past it's expiration date at this point, I fear.

This episode felt… hollow? Like S15 before they released the extended versions. We were missing so much that we normally see in a girl group challenge. I'm not mad at the tops and bottoms but idk if I would have given kitty the win.

ru and miselle shouldn't be judging a GLOBAL all stars season, idk.

like... it makes sense for the "final boss" to be ru, but at the same time, the blatant favoritism ruins the whole season

if anything, the panel should be all intl hosts and maybe have ru present in some capacity at the finale or something (i don't think she'd do that but they could try lol)

I really did wish the panel was 3-4 of the international hosts! Like Brooklyn, Mama Pao, Nicky and Lolita would be such a great set up

What unique perspective does Ross have to insist on having him as a main/recurring judge, despite the fans regularly expressing how much they dislike him/his takes? And to be honest, we could do without the other male judge either. These two feel like they're only there because they need jobs and Ru's their friend, so... here we are. Removing them would give us two prime spots for judges of the international seasons to join in -preferably ones that are not afraid to disagree with Ru and Michelle, but maybe that's delusional to hope for.

Watch them crown Kitty the way they crowned Tia :deadbanana2: They seem on their way to dilute the winners circle with more... interesting choices.

Youtube comments praising whatever segment that was after Ru said "don't phuckk it up".. saying Miranda brought joy to the competition when all she talked about is how poor Brazil is and that she's sick.. Vanity allegedly eating the lipsync when she didn't even touch the plate

Am I a cynical old fool or is this show just not for me anymore?

It's insane to me that we all thought this was gonna be like the Olympics of drag and some huge event :ahh: they dropped the ball SO hard, I'm going to be gagged if they have plans for another season after this

I would agree with you but her runway package seems to be rivalling Plastique's in terms of cost

I think the reason she looks like she's not trying is because she's leagues above the other queens in terms of production favouritism and camera readiness so she doesn't really need to exert that much effort :skull:

This is why I feel like Alyssa was such an odd casting choice for this season.

Like all these international queens come from

seasons that all aired in the last 2-4 years, all of whom are pretty young with relatively limited professional experience compared to a lot of older queens, particularly in the US. Enter Alyssa who has decades of professional experience under her belt, is a good 15-20 years older than most of the cast members and by far has the most money and connections, including to show, Ru and production.

As you mentioned she is just on a different league to the other queens this season and that's no shade to the other queens it's just an objective fact. In my opinion it would've made sense for them to pick a younger queen from a more recent season to represent the US so the casting isn't so imbalanced.

They should've saved Alyssa for a proper All Stars season with other American legends and newer icons.

@Unoriginal sister chime in, we need your opinion as a ONS (Original Nehellenia Stan) on this international drama

Not only did miz Muse clock the tea- she also would be a wild card for pit stop host! But they decided to give zero fucks about this.

Building on the comment saying that Alyssa stirred the pot: I am more convinced now that she will NOT win the season. She seems to be a part of a trend this year, in which "OG" queens (Roxxxy, Kennedy, Alexis) are brought to international season for the purposes of advertisement and being "team players" by meshing with the production team and giving them the storylines/moments/quick bits that they want. They know how to work the camera now as seasoned queens, so they "work with" the production team to create TV-worthy moments/say "iconic" lines to drive certain narratives. The vibes were always off, it's like none of these "OG" queens are giving it their all, and Alyssa's 100 billion answer in this episode's mini-challenge made me even convinced that she's not really trying -let alone her behaviour+performance elsewhere.

If Alyssa isn't a shoe in for the win- omg PLEASE don't tell me it would be Kween or Kitty bc we know it's not an international queen based on this disgraceful treatment they're getting. I would be able to live with Pythia taking the crown but if it's either of the other 2, I think all international type crowns would just become a joke.

This whole episode felt so ICKY :doc:

The tragic editing is back and the whole thing just feels cheap... That messy runway felt even messier, because they were rushing through those reveals and girls :rip:

I'm not even gonna comment on the results, because at this point it's obvious and confirmed that the anglosphere girls are getting payola'd. At least Alyssa and Pythia have the goods to back it up and are likable characters, but Kitty and Kween are performing incredibly mid and come off super bad...

Those two come off incredibly arrogant, but not in a "I'm a confident and shady Drag Queen" type of way, but rather "I'm better than you, you're from a flop franchise and a third world country" type way and it's making my skin crawl. Maybe I'm overreacting, but it almost feels like they're slightly dehumanizing the other girls. Kitty especially keeps throwing these nasty digs, telling them to shut up, acting like they're just meat to be sent away so her and the other "first world girls" can go further. Maybe it's cause I'm from a smaller, "less important" country myself why it's really feeling like this to me, but yeah... I wonder if other viewers feel the same way.

The way the Nehellenia situation was handled was incredibly sad and icky. She was completely justified in her feelings and they just all trashed her.

Coming from the US- this was all apparent to me as a viewer too so you're telling truths!

also- no wonder Nelly said Pythia was an amazing person in her MTQ. Pythia was probably the only one with some compassion to not be so rude to her.

also I've never seen a drag race thread with so much upvoting and agreement. That's how you know the Rigga Morris is allll too blatant this time around. Thank you all bc it's what I've been complaining about for many seasons now

Every time that *** opens his mouth I want to throw my TV off my balcony.

He is the epitome of a spineless, talentless, ugly producer puppet who has no right or credentials to be critiquing anyone's drag

I love Alyssa dearly and she's one of my all time faves, but I can def understand this sentiment. Maybe someone like Mistress, Katya or Sapphira wouldve been more balanced choices

Sapphira would've been a great choice, Mistress too. Katya is in a similar boat to Alyssa albiet its obviously very different due to Katya's personal struggles and having to take time off here and there etc.

Pythia and Gala are so far my favorites.

I thought Pythia was going to be a total ***** but she's very sweet and a great contender. Gala she would run through most of them if she broke the language barrier a bit more. Her tucks are meaty but loved when she read Kitty telling her shes not sexy.

Honestly Alyssa should be up in the judges table but glad to see her every week.

Kitty and Kween are just annoying and their runways are so mid. Kitty deserved to be in the bottom last week and no way she deserved to win this week.

Soa is just annoying and mid, send her home soon. Eva is just there, I hope we can see her in longer hair, the slicked short wigs are not it.

Tessa is entertaining, I hate her face though, but she has a great body. Prefer her out of drag.

Nelly is very sweet but yeah she needs to toughen up a bit, put on a poker face and get through it. She looks really pretty in drag.

Vanity… eh kind of forgotten. She looks great at times.

Tea but it's lowkey nice to see the fandom united and galvanized for this season/episode, especially after the borefest that was AS9

Now if only WOW/MTV got the memo to push this season with more promo...

Can we talk about how ******* ANNOYING Ru Pauls kink with rudemption is??!

Similarly, the productions kink for forcefully evening out the playing field by distributing wins equally among queens destroy the feeling of a true competition. If someone slays hard, let her have 4 wins in a row for all I care.

These 2 points are major ones why Rupaul doesnt feel authentic anymore

pythia and miranda were the clear bottom 2, but pythia would've been demolished in that lipsync lol. shame the overproduced rigging is so prevalent this season bc the cast is very good. season suffers from the same issues as all modern US seasons, the top 4 is already written from episode 1 - a production favourite can't slip and go home as a result unlike drag race philippines which is one of the many reasons why it's far superior.

i haven't really been clicking with the season so far. the episodes feel very rushed and missing so much that it is quite impersonal. the drama did catch my interest by the end of the episode though. also the lip sync was really great.

btw, the drama was very uncomfortable. italy girl was totally justified in how she felt - they were so quick to go above and beyond making excuses to big up the girls who simply flopped hard, but at the same time had immediately undermined and invalidated her top placement. it was very weird. the way they all doubled down/gaslighted/ganged up has only reinforced the narrative.
