Songs Meant for / Passed on / Taken by Beyoncé (Master-list)

Found another gem: This is a beat Danja made for 4 that "almost made it", but was cut. It became "Call Me Daddy" by songwriter Claude Kelly (second video below). Danja mentioned that B marveled how close he got to the sound of the project without listening to any other tracks. I'm assuming the similarities were to:

(A) the unreleased Fela Kuti afrobeat album; or

(B) the tribal/electro-influenced beats of Run The World (Girls) / End Of Time / Start Over (and rumored tracks "Crazy Girl/Hello Hi Goodbye", which ended up with Rita Ora + "I Am Woman" which ended up with Jordin Sparks)

Meleni Smith did Beyonce demos! "Forget You One Day" was written for Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Natasha Bedingfield, and/or Jordin Sparks according to the producer.

"Love Is My Disease" was originally recorded by Beyonce before getting passed on and released by Alicia Keys the year after on her 2009 album, "The Element Of Freedom". A reggae song on Sasha Fierce would've been interesting! Beyonce's version hasn't leaked yet though. Info about this song comes from Meleni herself in a 2011 interview.

In addition to all this...

Deja Vu was originally for Janet Jackson according to Makeba Riddick, a songwriter for the B'Day album. It was originally thought this track was made in 2003-2004 for Janet's "Damita Jo" album, but recent evidence proves this to be incorrect, and it was actually made in 2005-2006 for her "20 Y.O" album. She stated this in interviews once or twice, but always confused when the track was made, hence the conflicting details.

Eric Bellinger said in an interview with R&B Sauce 2 months ago that Sex On The Ceiling by Sevyn Streeter was written with Beyonce in mind during the self-titled sessions

Great! We have 1/30* now. :dancehall3:  I'm assuming Teyana Taylor and Chris Brown may have a few other Eric Bellinger concepts meant for B, but this is a start.

*(I'm sure I already posted in here that interview he did on DJ Vlad about his writing camp experience in the Hamptons to ultimately make the Self-Titled album, and how he worked on a whopping 30 tracks while in the mansion, had 6 make it to the final stage, and woke up on December 14, 2013 to ZERO making the final tracklist. :dancehall3:)

Thank you! I'll add these and your Eric Bellinger contribution.

Information on SIX potential Cowboy Carter songs / demos / concepts that did not make the cut:

A whopping FIVE with Kacey Musgraves (via notable B songwriter INK) and another with Shaboozey that was left off the final tracklist.

https://www.vulture.com/article/ink-kacey-musgraves-beyonce-cowboy-carter.html

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/shaboozey-reflects-working-beyonc-cowboy-191914547.html

I hope some Western-themed movie comes along requiring a score, and B/Kacey Musgraves sign off on sending all 5 there. How awesome would it be to have essentially a Kacey Musgraves / Beyoncé original music EP as the centrepiece of a soundtrack album? :alexz:

@trainsskyscrapers I got some info for you! The producer Rob Knox revealed in a now deleted tweet on Twitter back in April that Beyonce originally recorded the songs "Love, Sex and Magic" and "G Is For Girl" by Ciara along with a song titled "Bigger Than The World" by Esmee Denters for the I Am... Sasha Fierce album. I was able to find a thread topic about it on the forum BrandySource and found a copy of the tweet.

That's Crazy! Added. Thank you!

It's wild to think that if Beyonce made I Am... Sasha Fierce into an actual double album (exceeding 120 minutes of runtime), the Sasha Fierce side would have had space for "Love, Sex, Magic", "Damaged", and "G Is For Girl" alongside "Diva", "Single Ladies", "Radio", "Ego", "Sweet Dreams", and "Video Phone". :dancehall: That's too much sauce for one album.

Hello! I used some of your findings (as well as some of mine) to compile this post of demos and rejects belonging to Beyonce's 4 era!

Some titles that might interest you, are "Only 1" by Ariana Grande and "Kids" by Sleigh Bells. The latter song wasn't pitched in it's entirety, but the stems were reused for an unknown song that Diplo produced and pitched to Beyonce! I'll actually give you the liberty of seeking the information behind these songs online, but I assure you it's out there! I'll link you if you have trouble finding them, happy hunting!

"Supernova" by Lauren Evans here was also pitched to Rihanna's Loud album, confirmed via Instagram dms!
