Roman Holiday Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 It's weird how at 18 you can be considered legally responsible for yourself, go to war, etc etc but if you have sex with someone over 25, you're being groomed and have no agency.

Kamil24 Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 They are children - look like children, and pre-frontal cortex is not fully developed. As for the 2nd poll, I think there should be more options. Like some things should be allowed and others not.

And the same goes for people who seek out older partners because they feel dominate in those relationships. Go see a damn therapist. I am 22 and I still feel 19 or 20. I am turning 23 this year I am NOT ready. Maybe because I was 19 in most of 2020? I am stuck. A 30 year old dating a 18 year old is gross.

dumbsparce Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) If the state considers them mature enough to drive (and potentially be a threat to other people's lives) and vote (lord have mercy) then yeah I guess they're adults and should be treated as such. That doesn't mean ppl who were creeping on them before they were of age ain't freaks though. Edited January 14, 2023 by dumbsparce
teresaguidice Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) just a side note: you can go to war at 18 because the government knows it's easier to recruit and indoctrinate impressionable people who don't fully understand the consequences of major life altering decisions, not because that's when you're an adult lol. There's a difference between "going to war" and making simple every day life decisions. In countries where 18 year old males have to go through mandatory military service, they just go through with it bc it's sth the governement won't let you get away with easily. It has nothing to do with brainwashing. Edited January 14, 2023 by dumbsparce
Delirious Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 yes, i do think they are still teenagers but not children. 21 is an adult. when i was 18, i was still a dumb *****, i still am now but a little better. they deserve the right to vote, to get married etc. but not to drive. too many accidents happen with 18-21 yr olds

Devin Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 21 is an adult to me. 18 is a young adult (most are still immature)
Armani? Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Not ppl voting 18 year olds shouldn't be able to vote
MonsterJohn Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Sex wise, they are adults other matters they are more like teenagers

fountain Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Well they are neither adults nor children… they are 18 year olds If the question is supposed to be if they are young or grown up, then yes, an 18 year old is still incredibly young. You have hardly lived at that point.
