Selegend Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 if we're talking about artists that are still relevant, so they're kinda relevant despite having no big hits, Sabrina Carpenter is the right answer.

Letemtalk Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Sabrina Carpenter (released her first EP in 2014, no Top 40 single) Joshua Bassett (just a few years trying, so maybe doesn't count) - neither of these two where able to capitalise on the "Drivers License" release week drama in 2021. - Joshua flopped so badly that he appears to have turned Christian. Normani (no Top 20 as a solo artist, although "Motivation" was a minor hit, so perhaps she is a borderline case) H.E.R. (really only hear about her in awards season)
Sergi91 Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 I don’t stan H.E.R. but Slide is a hit for her even C. Tangana sampled it.
ithinkheknowsoutsold Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Stella Parton, Dolly Parton's younger sister (I had no idea she existed till yesterday).

In my country, SZA has both the #1 song and #1 album for the last week. She charts in the Top 40 quite often and has platinum album and song certifications, so people hear about here plenty of times outside of awards season.
vale9001 Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 (edited) Tory Kelly. Scooter Braun gave her every big platform (a solo vmas performance, grammy performances) but still she only got a #51 peak on hot 100. Edited January 10, 2023 by vale9001
