TS Entertainment was a legitimate business that was making money, until it was discovered it was not and the CEO/founder escaped by suicide.  That's when the scammed investors do the lemons into lemonade thing and just pile in bad debt as a write-off for their other investments.  So it's a unique case.  Well, it's not that unique.

 

Just from what I've observed over the years, the companies that are set up from the start as hobbies/tax shelters for rich people, the idols/staff are treated very well.  The ones that are startup lottery tickets, everyone is treated like anyone else who finds themselves in a high pressure business situation.  And as for those idols fortunate enough to land at big companies, you're replaceable until you prove you're not -- just like in real life.

Fashion brand ambassadorships

Adults not allowed in kpop

People who support companies over idols (Even after idols unalive themselves)

Plastic surgery overkill

Pannchoa and Reddit

Taking the k out of kpop

Lip synching and other tricks to hide inabily to sing

Me aging

Boring ass year end shows 

Boring ass idols

no idol interactions (except for when they interact and get kicked out of their groups for it)

Racism/homophobia/sexism still a thing

Every male idol probably being an incel now more than ever

BTS

Insane fans

Fake international achievements and honors 

No magical girl music

 

 

That's it but there's still some good in all this

SM sucks. JYP always gives their older groups proper promo which i respect. maybe because JYP himself is an old entertainer. at least they look past korea's indifference towards TWICE and see their potential as global stadium superstars
