She's an IT Girl, a threat, always has been. The only drawback people uses against her is her ethnicity.

if she were korean or japanese, everyone will be on their knees but I'm glad that China is treating her like the  superstar that she is :gaycat1:

what thoughts are there to have? he's right. there have been more gg #1s this year alone than boygroups combined for the past like... 6 years

True but what do you think are the reasons why boygroups don't get as much love and attention as girl groups these days?

this airport chaos is just a disaster waiting to happen...

there MUST be a VIP service they can use that will allow them to skip the main doors like every other big airport has. but then they'd lose their stupid airport fashion show photo ops

Boy groups need a complete reset. They need bigbang 2.0. Until then, I don't see this trend changing.
Boy groups have found success in mediocrity and are comfortable releasing stale, samey music with equally samey and unoriginal concept and promo, irrespective of music and social media trends, to appeal to their female fans who don't always care about anything but their parasocial relationship with their favourite idols. If you want to find success outside your fandom, you have to take risks and bring some creative ideas.
Can a boy group from the big 3 do that? If girl groups are anything to go by, probably not. The next big boy group will come from a non big 3 company, the same way it has been with girl groups.

I am one of those people who don't follow any recent boy group. It's partly bias and partly a lack of interest in anything going on with boy groups, besides casually listening to some songs or watching some clips here and there. Boy groups are stuck in 2012. Same old, same old. Time to update already. :coffee:

It's the casual sinophobia in kpop. The same way kpop fans will discredit and devalue Chinese sales for mass buying like somehow fans from all countries don't mass buy albums. They think little of Chinese people, and bc of that, the idols who come from there as well. If the only argument against her is that shes Chinese then that tells you everything bc shes objectively talented, pretty, charismatic, and likable so people can't use that against her

Ningning's still making waves despite any prejudices though and able to garner a lot of attention and praise  :bird: I think 2024 will bring massive growth to her too

honestly the lack of recognition in your home country must suck, i understand his feelings

i’d feel bad but at the end of the day these BGs are selling millions so…

the fact that first snow, a b side from 2013 is the most organic boy group song this year is just :deadbanana2:

Vogue China, viral/acclaimed/highest viewed singing guestings, Baidu and prolly versace ambassardorship as first female kpop idol. Yeah she had a great year.

Miss Ningning casually bagging this elusive large brands  despite 1 not being korean 2  not having the most solo fanbase in her group. That should tell us enough  :santa:

The fact that she wasn't even standing in the idols' way but the bodyguard still pushed her like that

So does Seventeen

but to answer your question, not a lot of bgs can capture  the gp as well as a gg and it’s a phenomenon that’s difficult to explain

Twice as a group isn't really interested in sexy concept. Some members are, but the group aren't. And they probably afraid that JYP fail and being called cheap by the GP.

Implying Twice aren't already sexy :cm: We are talking about the legendary girl group Twice here, they own it, they know it and they like it, bring back the bops, the girls will do the rest :hippo:

So someone came up that they'll do a Girls' Day cover. Karina's reaction lmao :lmao:

But a Sistar cover would slay more. Alone would be much of a banger with having all 4 who can sing as oppose to 1 or 2 carrying the entire song, no offence to  the great sistar   :clap3:
