It's gonna be embarrassing for SM when the middle schoolers debut in smngg after aespa and riize were all adults

Is there any info about these trainees? And also how is it embarrasing if SM does it when every other company has been doing the same:rip:

Wait SMNGG isn't going to be adults? :noparty: Guess I won't be stanning

When will companies take note how successful adult group lineups are? Many of the most successful groups right now (physicals, digitals, or touring) are all adults: Blackpink, BTS, Aespa, Twice, Seventeen, Gidle, NCT (most units I think?), EXO, Stray Kids, etc etc. RIIZE just debuted and is doing really well. SNSD is from 2nd gen and still one of the most popular groups, especially individually. Theres no need to keep debuting kids like this

Most of the groups you mentioned grew up and became adults though, plus all these years of work turned into a strong fan base. Currently, groups full of kids like NJ are dominating so...

I know, I was referencing their ages now as they're all adults and still successful. While NJ are dominating and so are many other groups of kids, I also don't think that means it's necessary to take away their childhood, disrupt their education, and debut them in such a demanding and exhausting industry. Groups of adults are also well-received and should be the industry standard bc I don't think exploiting kids is necessary for these companies to make money

While I'll casually enjoy the music, I won't stan these groups. The normal workforce is made up of majority adults, especially full-time work, and the same should apply to work in the entertainment industry. Especially one like kpop with how demanding and exploitative it can be. And I'll just say it is quite disturbing how ggs who debut young lose a lot of their straight male fans as they become grown adults. Something to consider too on this topic and why I'm even more against minors debuting in kpop. While part of it might be to relate to younger fans or postpone enlistment era, there is also a dark side to this decision companies are making and we should be aware of that

Maybe she gained weight, can't tell that well but she looks great to me. Joy seems to be naturally curvier and having more weight (by kpop standards) looks pretty and healthier for her imo  :gaycat4:  Shes also a woman in her late 20's now. My sisters, their friends, and other women I know all gain natural weight at this age and I think it's better than dieting to maintain a figure not natural to her age/build. She looks happy, energetic, and pretty at the festival which she would not be if she was starving and tired

It seems it's like a 4Minute situations. Kino for example said that not all the members were proposed new contracts.

The weirdest part is Yuto has been keeping mentioning the other members.

I guess you can leave cube but you can't take the cube out of you :cm:

I'm actually trying to lose some of my interest in them bc of this. I like them too much rn and it will be a struggle

Delusional praying they'll just continue consistent group activities w missing members. Theres enough of them, we'll hardly notice and casual/non fans won't even notice

And Jeonghan being in the first enlistment batch? Going Seventeen will suffer. We need a touch of evilness to the group dynamic

I think I’ll cope with their absence by watching all the remaining Going Seventeen episodes when I can, because lord knows when else I’ll be able to finish them

giphy.gif?cid=4d1e4f29b530c5199e45a5e206

but as you said, there are so many of them that we might keep getting unit/subunit releases so we might not even notice some of them are gone hihi. With Scoups it’s gonna be hard though because I just love his presence so much on their stuff. Like he could just sit there in front of camera doing nothing and I would thank him, and him being the first one gone, it will take some time to get used to.

Everything about it is just perfect. The color grading, the cuteness, the girlies’ infectious energy and joy on camera, the Momo dance break. The song itself having great structure, the melodies,  instrumental, even the rap parts are so perfectly placed after the bridge with such an amazing tension-release moment…whew a perfect pop song. :WAP:

@gigantopithecus @Witnessed ET I see them still being active in 2024 with Joshua taking over leader duties, but it’s when the 96 line (Hoshi, Woozi AND Wonwoo :!ohno:) go in 2025 that the whole machine falls apart

But I do agree, if there’s one group that’s built to thrive during enlistment, it was always Seventeen and their 13 members. Having a smaller unit could be interesting, especially for members who don’t get the most shine with OT13

Regardless, it’ll be interesting to see how they manage this next chapter. I wonder if the boys + Pledis are contemplating pulling a BTS, and having most go during the same time frame… guess we’ll find out soon enough :date2:

@Panda17 I think New Year's Rockin Eve was one of the reasons why NewJeans pre-recorded during 2 days back in november (one for BBMA and the other day for this)
