It's interesting, it's the complete opposite of Newjeans who debuted with no pre-debut content, no advertising and promoted on music shows for 1 month, catching the general public interest and going viral online and IRL.

 

That makes me think YG will never be taken seriously, in Korea or elsewhere. They ignore their music department in favor of theatrics and superficialities the same group of people keep latching onto over and over. It's not bad business, it pays the bills, but from the outlook of what Kpop and Kpop music could be and bring to the music scene, it's disappointing.

This take would have been good if YG ON AIR wasn't a thing for the past 15 years...

 

Old Blinks were even asking YG to bring it back for BP when they debuted.
