yeah it's impressive, when you think about it what's carrying them is the music and their concepts which Korea seems to love lol

I knew them before they started making music 

They are influencers. 2 are youtubers/streamers, 1 is a tiktoker, 1 is from AKB48 sister group. Some of them are popular in their niche that is Youtube and e-celebs adjacent media. They are a "Youtube based group", using their online popularity to generate revenue from Youtube user created content. They debuted ~1 month ago and have been playing outdoor, at concerts and festivals. The promotion has been going well so far and they will keep touring across Korea.
They are very "local", I don't expect international fans to follow their activities but it's great they are having some success.

Julie Han left The Black Label to go to Swing Ent (the company Natty was under), and Lee Haein told that both Natty & Julie were preparing to be on the same group before she poached them. 

 

Swing Ent back in 2019/2020 before the pandemonium (while Hyein was in Middle school), were preparing for a girl group, the rumoured line up had Natty, Julie, Yunjin (Le Sserafim), Koeun & Hina (ex SM trainees)

I mean You & Me is coming from SOLO session

Hard To Love was from On The Ground sessions.

Typa Girl was first sent for Lisa when she was preparing her solo.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jisoo unreleased songs comes out in the future sang by someone else.

the problem is that they couldn't give the girls more than 2 songs when their discography was too short lol 

 

I don't know if they had other plans before the BS scandal, like each girl releasing a single before KTL was out, even tho I doubt that   

 

the least they could've done was give Rosé her solo in 2019, then start releasing 10 track albums every year starting 2020. there was no reason for them to not get a comeback in 2021, I actually feel like that break kinda hurt them a little even if the comeback and the tour still were successful.

 

something like: 

KTL -> Rosé solo -> The Album (10 tracks) -> Lisa solo -> 2021 album (10 tracks) -> Jisoo solo -> Jennie comeback with a mini -> 2022 album (10 tracks) 

 

and lbr that's not even that much, but compared to what they actually had that would've been incredible lol

Rosé's solo debut ep with something like Fast Forward and Hard To Love would've been amazing... Idk what they were thinking with basic ass sings when she's a SINGER and performer

Never forget Lee Hi talking about YG saying they don't have enough staff to promote more than 5 comeback a year, which is why she transfered to a sublabel before leaving... Even Taeyang moved to a sublabel to release his music.

While I agree for the length of her mini, is the TT choice was really their fault?

 

She was the one who wanted On the floor and kinda killed her own momentum

Lee hi is so much better with AOMG, even if she don’t have the same budget anymore, her album was really good, yge would never

It's thanks to him they had their little EDM duet and even worked with R3HAB.

Then the only people who worked with him since has been Hyolyn, ITZY (RACER aka the song that should have been the title track of Checkmate album), Niel

 

Like a good dancer could have such a great album entirely produced by him.

Yes, all very interesting, but I'd forgotten about Niel, who has one of the gayest faces ever made. Very nice, thank you for sharing.

They are a nice bunch. Their leader majored in drums and is decent. Their singer from AKB48 sister group isn't bad either. You say their music sounds like Jpop and I think that's intentional. They might want to try to use the member from ABK48 sister group connections and their fluency in Japanese to tour in Japan too at a later date.
