Yes, thats true. In theory, Korean labels should outsource their vocalists in the Philippines

 

I also heard that after this incident, Korean labels were scrabbling to sign Jake (Charice) up, but apparently Jake turned it down. Which was understandable since due to his hype around that time, he’d have more success debuting as a global soloist singer, which he did experience for a very brief moment.

 

However, I also acknowledge that “idol singing” exists as a normality among K-Pop and Filipino singers being prominent in the K-Pop industry would be seen as too overbearing (because of the excess amount of ad-libs and high notes, which is expected from an average Filipino vocalist nn)

Using someone’s looks is always a good sign that you’re losing a fight. Also shows how reductive and dehumanizing you view women to the point that you would see an incredibly talented woman who BROKE her face before, and feel the need to mock her for her plastic surgery because you can’t find anything substantial to bring to a fight. Embarrassing how blatant misogyny like this is reduced to a “kii” and not acknowledged for what it is, us perpetuating our society’s objectification and undervaluing of women. Where a woman can outsing 99% of the industry but the state of her face is still the bigger concern and is used as material for basic uninspired jokes

 

More users in here should just stick to thirsting over these untalented, basic *ss male idols because apparently a lot of you do not have the capacity to appreciate talented women. Considering that the main requirement to enter a lot of KTRL’s lists seem to just be male and moderately attractive, this isn’t a surprise though. It seems like many already sideline music and talent in favor unlistenabe music sung by equally unlistenable voices, so why would they value her having an actual listenable discography and talent far beyond any Twink of the Week that gets praised all over this thread?

Anytime I've seen looks brought into a fight, it's because whoever they're trying to trash is too talented to attack there so they have to resort to lowbrow attacks on their looks It's just a testament to how talented she is I guess. But if you genuinely can't argue her talent, then why are you arguing?
