I honestly don't know how I feel about Chill Kill. However, what I do know is that if any other group had released Chill Kill or Drama, many of you would've harshly criticized it, let's be honest. The reason why I'm saying this is because some of you Sheep, have extremely high standards for non-SM releases apparently, and are ready to drag those songs while giving your SM faves a pass for putting out the same kind of music that you guys consider "mediocre music". It seems like some of you are attempting to develop a form of Stockholm Syndrome to make yourselves like this song, reminiscent of what happened with Birthday last year. It's perfectly okay to acknowledge that your favorite group may not always deliver, particularly if they happen to be Red Velvet :coffee2:

However I must say that their b-sides in this new album are WAY better than the title track, and I'm wondering why one of these songs didn't become the title track instead?

My favorite songs on the album that I might put in my playlist:

Overall, the album maintains a consistent sound, almost as if they crafted an entire album centered around the "Feel My Rhythm" sound, which would've also fitted perfectly in this album. I didn't connect with any song like that, but overall it's a cute album I guess and will give it a 6/10

Why do people get so triggered when people who stan some SM groups stockholm themselves into liking a subpar song when that's literally a classic kpop fan thing to do? It's not the conspiracy you guys make it out to be. SM ggs + Exo/SHINee just generally have great music and sometimes we have to cope with a bad release.

At least their albums are always listenable and the titles aren't consistently bad, lots of groups can't relate!

the best November release is coming

Speaking of EXO, they're pulling their Mariah Carey again but let's remember this is actually the superior winter song and charts =/= truth

SM delivers 2 Video of the year back to back

There's a reason why there are so many Sheeps here. SM's creative game is unmatched

Chirr Kirr has some great musical moments, but also some questionable melodies throughout the song that just ruin the flow. I usually love RV’s velvet side so had high expectations for this.

anyway, waiting for ENHYPEN to save November for me :coffee2:

Do we know whether aespa will be performing the b-side at the music show? Like Thirsty, Salty and Sweet

Chill Kill is marinating nicely for me and I am no longer coping when I say I kinda love it! She's a grower and the structure was just a little too unique for my brain to understand at first I think! :celestial4: Chill Kill >>>>>> Birthday, Umpah Umpah, RBB, Queendom tbh

Agree, but some of them will never be capable of being unbiased and objective. They’re too far up their own buttocks for that I fear. We saw the exhibit A the other day. :eli:

This is an all-VISUAL group. Keeping the S(EX) in K-pop.

chill kill is growing on me already

just wish it was a pre release so we could’ve gotten the cell block tango in the title track :gaycat6:

Posted

btw this is an absolutely insane way to debut veneers :dies: I wish I could've been there when these videos dropped and were fans first introduction to his new teeth. He's kind of a mess and I'm really loving him. Maybe my 2nd after Seungkwan now.. picking a favorite in this group is rough because they all exhibit insane behavior @Witnessed ET

Maybe more idols should stop giving af and start debuting their work like this! We all know anyways and help pay for it so why the shame!

the actual song sounds like....

Chill kill would be a 10/10 if it was a b-side tbh. But I don’t see any track title worthy.
The album is really cohesive which is really rare in kpop nowadays.

Underwater, iced coffee and bulldozers are the the best tracks of the album :kitty:

They really said NO to whisper pop and YES to vocal excellence, especially on those songs mentioned :clap3:

Hoshi is peak variety character lmao I love him so much. BooSeokSoon truly is my medicine tbh. They’re just so unserious sometimes :dies:

I feel like this is an argument that can be made conversely as well, though. What it is is that SM’s expansive catalog has endeared sheep so much to the point that they’ve drawn their own enemy lines between them and the rest of the K-pop industry because of SM’s sonic identity. And it’s that same braggadocio that have prompted K-pop fans at large to hold SM acts to the same high standard because of how arrogantly superior sheep proclaim their output to be. In doing so, they’re criticized to an even worse degree during the low points when the material released actually is mediocre.

Let’s be honest: if aespa had released “Baddie” (which actually fits their motif more than it does IVE), they’d have been universally laughed out of the building.

RV reminding us that a good vocal performance can completely transform a song! The power behind their vocals really drive so much more emotion and impact into the songs

If the universe was right and balanced, they would all be getting promoted with at least one live vocal performance :sats:

Now why is this outdoing Unforgiven

Like it's cute but let's move on or SouMu will keep milking it like the Eve song and the comeback might get postponed

He's genuinely hilarious and doesn't gaf on any level :dies: His limpwristed ice coffee'd Seungkwan impression @ 1:53 took me out when I first watched this. 1:05 was also nefarious, honestly the whole bit is insane and I'd say send him to jail if he wasn't a SHINee stan

While I agree with some of your statements, regarding Baddie, IVE was also universally laughed out of the building and 90% of this thread said they were cosplaying BP and the video looked like RV. And majority of the ive fanbase agreed too. Most of the positive comments about Baddie have been about it’s chart success, not it’s quality.

These two are the ultimate gay best friends in kpop who cackle and slay jointly when they are together and we live  it’s funny because when it comes to musical and performative talent, they’re both insanely talented, but when it comes to the variety character energy, they’re unmatched like they just flipped a switch :dies:
