The western worship kpop fans have is kinda funny because either

• They worship the grammys and act like it not nominating kpop acts means kpop is "trash/inferior" to western pop (why are you listening then?)
• Or they add way too much value to the grammys and act like them not nominating kpop acts is the end of the world and has any impact outside of stans' number games. They get unreasonably mad over a nomination and hate on the entire ceremony and the nominees

 

Also, for the first one, acting like an award show ran by white Americans not awarding foreign/POC is somehow a meaningful reflection of their quality of their work and acting like an entire country's pop music is inferior is also..... not a good look. Still doesn't mean an award show that's largely a game of money and connections is worthy of all the essay kpop fans write though lmao
