Is it safe to think Kpop has peaked in the West now :rip: I don't see any kpop groups getting seriously nominated for Grammys anymore unfortunately.

The fact that SO many groups have submitted only to not get a single nomination :deadbanana2:

Stray Kids didn't debut on melon 24 hits :rip:

Also I never expected to see my own homegrown country's music (Afrobeats) getting it's own Grammy wins before Kpop :rip:  It kinda shows how inorganic Kpop is in the West outside fandom.

on the Drama live stage…you have to give SM some credit for keeping their choreos and overall stages VERY *kpop* while the rest of the groups have started doing tik tok dances :clap3:

(which is another reason why their western push makes no sense but whatever)

Bragging rights, typical for SM :swan:

On the side note.  Kpop acts will always be treated and seen as novelty acts by  hollyweird and racist western medias, that's the reality. This labels needs to give up :swan:

About Kpop and the Best New Artist Award at the Grammys:

The "Best New Artist" award is literally reserved for Ice Spice, and it wouldn't make sense for anyone else winning over her. So maybe they have a higher chance at getting nominated next year and maybe winning if we stretch it a little. I think this is why NewJeans didn't submit for BNA this year, since you can only be nominated for this award once only and never again.

I don't really think that there will be a new breakout artist like Ice Spice for like a few years now, since the music industry is struggling to find new breakout artists, which there was  also a whole article about.

So I can MAYBE see NewJeans or another Kpop group getting nominated and MAYBE win next year  :suburban:

As it should! Their company is smart not submitting them this year because I’m sure they will do it next year with a full album on their back and American promo

False. Newjeans is right there and it was their company who didn’t submitted them and made the best decision ever.

2024 is the year newjeans will break many records in the us

industry plant spice getting nominated for that garbaj karma remix instead of seven... the scammy's stay scamming. Like they couldn't have at least nominated boys a liar pt 2 instead to make it somewhat understandable :stare:
