would y’all rather blackpink, red velvet, or twice’s career?

blackpink- unparalleled success throughout, running the fashion game, inconsistent comeback timing, long breaks, music quality ranging from badass chic to 2013’d outdated with aave, inconsistent stage presence that can be excellent, huge stadium tours

red velvet- underdog trajectory of the 3, hit or miss with title tracks (when they smash though, they SMASH), widest concept variety while still having a group sound, nowadays even a floppier comeback can go top 20, gaining momentum/ respect as they age, lowest overall sales, best vocals, overall mid stage presence

twice- only #1 smashers for like 6 years, maintaining a retro sound now that has trouble on the charts, huge album sellers and touring acts though, especially in america. despite their titles losing momentum as they grow, they still seem to be gaining even more fans and maintaining a monstrous fanbase, pretty good stage presence, mid vocals

Twice's schedule in 2017&2018 would literally crash me

I think It won't change anything in terms of impact. TV is an outdated form of promotion. Most of the audience comes from livestreams and the ones who turn the TV on are most likely fans of nominated acts/performers who will watch it online regardless If It's the only way It's acessible.

Yeah, but people on Twitter will definitely talk about the ceremony if big names pre record their performances. And if the performance is good they will get views on YT.

They really could have just made a full album with My World + these B-sides and saved Drama/Trick or Treat for a cute mini release with the solo songs :monkey:

well that was the original plan and then the sm restructuring ****** with everything

Knetz are dragging Laloser

"Korean netizens commented, "She got what she asked for," "I think it wasn't as much a big controversy since Lisa's a foreign star," "China is so strict," "Weibo probably warned those brands to remove the content or else," "She shouldn't have performed at the strip club," "She got herself in this situation," and "You reap what you sow.""

Twice - only #1 smashers for like 6 years

First #1 hit: 2016 with Cheer Up

Last #1 hit: 2018 with Yes or Yes

Their longevity is even worse :deadbanana2:

Taemin's comeback is so great, he's done it again :jonny6: The mini is also excellent. I was prepared for 1 good b-side and then filler since that's what his last minis were kind of giving since SM decided men over the age of 25 get scraps but I love every song.

WayV also shocked the hell out of me. They've always had a pretty terrible discography so idk who Winwin threatened but they got the good demos this time. And I almost really love the title track cause it calls back to the classic bg midtempos of the 2nd gen except for that ridiculous chorus, which. Who the hell thought that whooping was a good idea? It's not that the sequence of notes was musically offensive, it's that they hit the "yOUUUUth (whOOOOO)" so hard and so hooty and it was also a little off-key and not mixed down at all :rip:It's a shame cause the rest of the song is great. At least the b-sides are all pretty good, though.

In fairness, those were 9 #1s in a row. They still have almost twice as many #1s as BlackPink and RedVelvet combined.

I really hope that show was truly a dream for her and not a marketing stunt to go viral in the West.

'Cause it didn't make a dent on the Western marked, not even a nice bump on her instagram followers/likes (where she posted some carefully curated pictures about the entire affair) and potentially losing her cbar (responsible for like... 60% of her sales) was definitely not worth it
