From the girls only performing Korean songs in Korean Bootcamp (totally makes sense for a group you want to debut in America ) to my personal belief of JYP favouring Kendall and Kaylee due to their cute visuals, it seems like he completely disregards the less 'KBS' girls (Christina and Lexus). He seems to have completely copied and pasted the Nizi Project while making little editorial changes which includes the whole editing of the show. Another mistake. Also, the fact they can't get the Biracials skin colours right even in LA is. JYP definitely thinks K-pop is super hot in America even though it makes 4% of music listening globally which is why he didn't even bother trying to suit it more towards American tastes - Also another preteen girl group exists - XOMGPOP and they are falling apart by the minute and have barely made an impact with their tween demographic and keep losing members it seems, even though Jojo Siwa is behind them. I wish the girls who make it the best of luck but I heavily doubt the group will be as successful as JYP hopes and I can see them completely flopping after the first single (which I doubt will make much noise anyway) and disbanding after 2 years at best. DA while having many problems will do better due to the girls being older and HYBE knowing how to do modern concepts and rigging! These projects are run by Korean companies run by out of touch past-middle aged Korean men who use their horny tastes first to figure out who they want to debut and then the Kpop formula second. They have zero idea what the American market is and wants and they are surrounded by people who also have no idea what the American music market is and wants. They have no understanding of American culture and the American labels seem to have very little actual control in these projects, otherwise they'd be completely different. JYP loves Kendall because she's pretty by Korean standards. The moment she walked in through the door you saw the Korean staff look at each other and nod, which is what they'd do if a Suzy or a Yuna walked through the door, but this isn't Kpop. It works for Kpop, but what works for the AMERICAN market? Being pretty always helped in the American music market, but Kendall's personality is a turn off and her skills aren't up to par. Most of these girls, their skills aren't up to par at all. And yes they are TOO YOUNG. They are definitely going to debut Kaylee because she's Korean first (nationalism at work) and because she young and cute, but she also melts down easily when things don't go right. And that makes sense because she's THIRTEEN. Kidz Bop has the kids market right now and they're a tightly run group by a professional long-running organization. They know who their audience is (kids) and give them cute performances and keep it moving while cycling out members once they're too old to appeal to that market. They're a recognizable brand that parents can feel comfortable with, because once you get to a target audience of that base you have to consider what the parents ae comfortable with. XOMGPOP at least understood who their audience would be but the Siwas do not know how to run a group and weren't ready for this kind of project. Even still, the Kids Market is very niche. The demise of the Disney/Nick child star pipeline with the rise of social media has made it even harder for younger kids to make it. Usually they do little projects here and there until they become 18 and start doing more mature stuff. The youngest people to make it recently in terms of big time were like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo and they were 18 and sang songs that appealed to a teen market - songs that were youthful while still being mature and cool in a way that wouldn't embarrass their high school fans. All these Itzy knock offs are embarrassing. All of the comments were saying the same too. That's part of the reason why Kpop exists in its own little ecosystem with only fans to take it seriously - Kpop fans accept that these embarrassing concept are part of the 'culture' of Kpop so they can make exceptions for it. If an American girl group came out singing Itzy's 'I just wanna be me' songs people simply wouldn't tune in, even teens wouldn't. And if JYP wants the kids bop market like XOMGPOP then they'd have to make the cut off age of the group like 14 to get those 7 year old Jojo Siwa fans. They can't have people that are 18 almost 20. He has no idea what he's doing. Neither does Hitman Bang. He has the money to throw around and make his own American girl group project seem more upscale and highly developed but the general idea behind it is flawed. You're making an AMERICAN GIRL GROUP to presumably hit big in the AMERICAN MARKET why are you going around the world getting representatives of each country you could find pretty, skinny girls in? What the hell? Will they even be able to communicate with each other? These groups will fail outside of their Koreaboo/Kpop fan/Company stans. Hybe Fans are supporting Hybe's Miss Universe Girl Group project, Stray Kids fans/JYP stans are supporting A2Fail. And in that case, what's the point? Just make a regular Kpop girl group if the fanbase will just be Kpop fans? The biggest problem of course is that I doubt anyone with real talent wanted to be involved in these projects or the Kpop system at all. Not even SM can dim her shine I fear. The songwriting chops are already surfacing before an album ever drops and the ugly outfits can't hide her anymore.
