“BTS-led increase in national brand value and economic trickle down effect”

the way industry people & analysts will always credit bts for kpop going global

:coffee2:

"However, it is premature to say that Kpop has entered the global mainstream."

That's why so many hybe stans were jealous of Fifty Fifty's organic mainstream success :coffee2:

7 years is usually the standard because it's the maximum allowed by korean law.

Obviously not totally related to what you were discussing, but although 7 years is the maximum length allowed to be written in an entertainment contract, there are loopholes.

SM openly boasted a couple months ago, that it had gotten approval from Korea's trade commission which allows them to make NCT's contracts longer than 10 years, due to extension agreements for overseas promotions, military service etc.

They also did something similar with SNSD, f(x), EXO, Red Velvet and possibly aespa too. Most other companies seem to stick within 7 years though, SM just wants to be extra shady I guess!

This bold faced LIE :deadbanana2: I see as many internal Army wars as I see BTS vs KPOP fan wars.

That’s as delusional as Blinks saying they’re a United fanbase.

Truth is, if they werent too obsessed with solo stanning they wouldn’t have a problem admitting JK has the most streamed Kpop soloist song. But because they still want Jimin to have something they’re running with a technicality to be able to ignore the JK song.

I mean the way they said Jimin surpassed Lalingo's Money but won't admit Jungkrook song. When both aren't technically kpop... this feels very targeted.

If the members can sing that well how come they never sing live?

Or do they have ghost singers like T-ara used to?

Neither Jungkook, Jimin or Lisa are relevant in America as soloists except to Kpoopers :coffee2:

I also thought about it this week and I agree.

We all know where this baseless conspiracy theory came from and it's a novel for teenage girls. There's enough REAL issues with that evil corporation, you don't need to regurgitate Jessica Jung's fantasies to find something to criticize. The current mass exodus from SM disproves this narrative that people are forced to stay with them forever. All 8 SNSD members continuing to work with SM while half of them aren't under contract and actively working in the industry for another company also is a huge hole in this conspiracy theory.

It's time to put the "slave contract" narrative to bed for good. The ex-dbsk members who originated it were exposed to not all be great/honest people. SM is extremely controlling for the 7 year contract term like every other agency, or like any other main US record label is for the term of an x album contract.

Wait how much have Lizards been spamming Money streams? I checked months ago and it was at like 770M streams. How is it already at 1B :rip:

Repackages are usually for full albums. Since no company wants to give their 4th gen groups legitimate full albums, no one can get repacks either. Companies are trying to spend as little as possible so less songs but more title tracks. Hence most groups now doing pre-releases and multiple title tracks.

1. These videos are hardly live

2. There's a big difference between singing live & dancing on stage vs singing comfortably with a stripped back arrangement

3. Most kpop idols actually have pretty vocal tones. Very few of them are actually tone deaf. What they lacking is vocal technique and ability to project their voice which would only show when they sing a more demanding song

I remember I said something about only Wendy and Seulgui were good vocalists in RV and they crucified me I know they are essentially nice singers but Joy can't project her voice speaking on the third better singer in RV

I stand by what I said, you see those crazies because there are just more ARMYs than you can possibly imagine. The majority support all the members which is why even RM has more than 800K sales, and he barely has any akgaes of his own. Otherwise we would be seeing situations like EXO where Baekhyun is selling 1M+ while D.O. is struggling to sell 100K :deadbanana4:

Also I don't know who this "they" is you're referring to regarding the solo stanning, but it definitely isn't me lol, so I can't speak for them. If you're referring to the tweet I posted it's more about comparing to fraudney since Blinks talked up so much **** about Jimin rather than trying to circumvent JK's records. I think its already obvious Seven is the biggest k-soloist hit by a LARGE margin

Oh Joy is definetly a good vocalist. She's on the same level as main vocalists like Rosé, Jungkook and Nayeon for example (or even better than them honestly). It's just that you have to look for her solo performances because Red Velvet's songs especially in the red concept don't really take advantage of her voice.

I feel like Big Hit really treated them well. And I think I remember they also received the share or something like that in the company too.

YG need to offer something like this too to Blackpink. They are the face of YG not that fraud rat face criminal, Yang Hyunsuk

Yeah they receives shares and also they know how much they can earn with BTS. No one would leave, and since HYBE is dependent of BTS, the members have the power for the negotiations

I think the case of BP is different, bc YG have history of not keeping their promises, they aren’t like HYBE who frequently releases music through their acts and also bc Lisa is a foreigner

With how big Seven was on streaming, I would have thought that the song will be performing like All It was or Flower worldwide, but did the song spend more than 2 weeks inside the top 10 of the majors music market charts outside SK and Japan?
is it a radio problem?
