Personally I think FMR and 4 Walls are on similar levels of peak quality, conceptuality and talent, but that's just my personal thoughts. 

 

f(x) were done so wrong, but SM did have a lot more cause to dump them compared to RV, since they were already seeing a decline. I think they could have continued on though but it didn't work out for whatever reason.

 

I think it's so weird that SM invests so heavily in acts that are destined to flop like HYO etc. but they couldn't find the time/money for another f(x) release after 4 Walls. Krystal even said they were constantly trying to make a comeback happen and all 4 girls were stuck in the company for 4 years without a comeback. A tragedy

Not really. F(X) was getting a bigger international fandom but domestically weren’t really as big. Electric Shock was thier commerical peak in Korea, and Pink Tape was thier critical peak. 4 Walls was really only big for international Kpop fans. It wasn’t a smash in Korea

The members are just too big, to continue being be in the group I feel like? The whole end goal for an idol is to eventually venture into a solo career later on, and every BTS member is successful as a soloist. 

 

V for example at this point in his career should not be stuck in a group with 7 members where he is only singing 10-15 seconds of lines when his solo album alone is selling 2M copies if you get what I mean. 

Jungkook alone is about to have the most streamed song on Spotify, not just Kpop but overall 

etc.

 

Like they don't really need the group anymore + they have already been there and done that and are already at the top as a group. Now it's time for the members to build their solo careers and strive to the top as soloists like they did as group. There's just simply too much potential with the BTS members especially the maknae line. 

Like imagine the missed opportunity if Taeyeon never prioritized her solo career and mostly stuck with SNSD her whole career for example. 

 

But this is just my take and I might be wrong of course

This may be out of pocket but my personal guess is they’ve pushed Seven like that because they want a grammy win for him as a soloist to get military exemption. Latto was only added on to get an easier nom (pop due) + help get the song on US radio.

 

Come to think of it, HYBE has always pushed him as a soloist more than the rest— when asked why they had only JK on Dreamers and not the group; the CEO responsible for the fifa world cup song answered that he was told the other members are all in the military and thus unavailable (only Jin was).

 

Does HE not want to follow the other members’ footsteps with enlisting though? I don’t know. He’s said like three times in recent memory how he wants to be a “huge popstar” so we’ll see how it’s gonna go down.

well it never happened so people just speculate... there are korean athletes who got "exemption" for winning medals (for representing the country), so a lot of people believe that if Korean singer wins Grammy(or actor an Oscar) they might receive it as well

I don’t think it’s been explicitly confirmed, but it’s going off how any athlete who wins an olympic medal is exempted. Example being Sonny— he was exempted after helping SK get a gold medal in 2018 Asian Games. I read once about how notably skilled violinist and pianist may also get an exemption but I didn’t follow through on it so idk about musicians per-say; but the Olympics rule was introduced on grounds of helping the country’s global prestige, and ig people thought BTS did enough of that already. When it didn’t look like an exemption was underway still and they started getting their grammy noms the collective thought was that it was their golden ticket for it. And it probably would’ve been?

Can't wait for tomorrow, when the BP members announce at the end of their last concert that they will stick together for another 7 years while having a group hug, and that nothing will ever come between them and break them apart, and then announcing a new album titled "The Celebration" which is a homage to another 7 years together that will be released on October

Tbh I don’t see why they would disband? The group isn’t holding them back from anything except leaving the company and it’s subsidiaries. Even then that’s not cause to disband re:snsd 

 

the only reason I can think of for disbandment is if one of them doesn’t want to be an Idol anymore. Jennie seems to me to be pursuing a more western path but a solo comeback is the most probable option. In the near future at least. I don’t think they’re disbanding, YG just wants all eyes on them for however long they can milk the contract thing

It was when Parasite won all those academy awards that the idea of winning an Oscar or a Grammy or even an Emmy could exempt someone from the full two year military obligation just like winning an Olympic medal became an accepted fact.  But the guys who received those Parasite Oscars all had already done their military obligations back when they were 19-20 like normal Koreans do.
