The girls can't really win, can they? if they choose to stay with YG. Things are still going to stay the same and if they all happen to leave, it's gonna be a different battlefield for them.

Yes, but I’m sure there’s a sea of opportunities and career paths waiting for them rn, let’s hope they choose wisefully. YG is trash, but we all know it can get even worse :-*

Their holding that Babymonster debut in case the BP members don't renew and their stock tanks  :toofunny2:

It's 2NE1 all over again but this time, there won't be another BP to save that rotting company :rip:

So basically what I gather from this is Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé already renewed and they’re just saying on Lisa?

I know we say this all the time that they’re all stars in their own right and have that individual pull, but something tells me that might not be true for all 4 of them AFTER the group disbands and they all fully embark on solo paths. Yeah they’re kinda huge in terms of online presence  and fanbase and influence, but does that necessarily mean that will translate to successful solo careers for ALL four of them?

again, I know “success” is a relative term and I’m sure their individual careers will be objectively considered “successful”, but something tells me that múltiple members are going to have CL’s fate :chick1:

RV may be ending, but we’re not speaking that into existence for BP. I rebuke it actually

I've planted the seed and I will see it’s harvest.

RV survived the 7th year curse, was able to get a Hit 8 years into their career and served us the excellence

The Cake Girls are ending their careers in a high note ( allegedly for now ) :gaycat4:

Time is the only ultimate teller. We'll see if they'll be able to survive on their own without the leverage of the BP brand.

I wish the girls all the success whatever endeavours they have after this mess :giraffe:

None of them are going to have CL’s fate be fr.

I think they’re all going to be fairly successful unless the music is too bad or one of them destroy her own image. I mean how can they NOT be successful if they play their cards right? They are already have the fanbase, media attention and access to the best things the music industry can offer + plus all of their solo debuts were successful already.

BP fandom is not fragile, they are going to support all of them no matter what, they will have albums sales + tour success guaranteed for the rest of their lives both as a group and soloists, unless something REALLY bad happens. They just need to be wise to keep the GP attention with hits like they already did (Solo, Money, Flower). It just a matter if they want to be “pop stars” like JK or they’re going to be chill doing whatever they want like V.

We all can get our kiis and drags each other faves but at the end of the day, this are all women trying to chase their dreams in an industry or anywhere else that still put them at disadvantage and we all should be supporting that :clap3:

lisa knows her worth. she carried the whole $200M+ tour in under a year and YG's best is 40mil? :rip: isnt CELINE paying her more as an ambassador?

i dont see jennie passionate as a solo artist. i can see her becoming a billionaire with Jennie Ruby Jane Beauty though... she needs to capitalize on that Korean beauty name recognition paired with her celebrity. easily the next fenty beauty. billionaire without having to Ddudu Ddudu again

idk what rose is gonna do but her solo didnt give her any solid goodwill as a singer-songwriter. she needs to play her cards the most carefully tbh. if her first post-bp single flops its over.

jisoo can just act or... whatever.

I wouldn’t compare any of BP with CL because they’re situations are completely different. CL was dungeoned and YG had her in limbo after 2NE1’s disbandment, she sat around doing nothing for YEARS so she lost a lot of traction and support

was a lot of her potential wasted, yes but at same time she’s still doing well, she’s constantly booked and has been booked am ever since she dropped her album,

BP aren’t in that situation, they’re huge names in their own right with already successful solo careers, look at everything Jisoo has accomplished this year after constantly being counted out by people, she has the biggest song for a soloist this year

IF and that’s a big IF because I don’t see it happening, if BP were to disband, I’m more than sure they’ll be fine as solo artists

back for more is cute, I think I like this song more than sugar rush and do it like that. They should do sexy concepts more

Wait this is cute, a little generic but cute

girl this is kpop. blackpink fans are not a cult folllowing. the same was said about 2ne1, snsd, wonder girls.

RV is preparing an album tho? Why would they disband at their peak album sales. They should all stick it out for a couple more years, make bank from the global profitability of kpop and then go live their lives doing whatever they want.

All in all, they’ve achieved a lot for a kpop girlgroup and broke barriers so that’s something they should be proud of. But there’s this thing of wasted potential that will always be there when I hear the name Blackpink. And I say this because they were the ONLY kpop gg in today’s age that I truly expected to be household names in the US and the western audience, they had the perfect package and right sound to make it happen. But due to YG’s incompetence, that was left to be desired. Yes they amassed a huge fanbase in the west and still managed to rake in numbers in sales and streams, but they fell short of reaching that level of gp recognition that legitimately established an act’s household stature in the country…because of YG’s lack of vision in timing and decisions. They were so close to be fully OUT of that “kpop” tag over here in the country and they were showing signs of that this past era, but of course it didn’t last long and might never move forward because the group’s fate hangs in a limbo.

well whatever happens, they had a great run and truly pushed the boundaries of a kpop gg’s popularity around the world so they’ll always have that to their name even if they disband. :bird:

It's just a running joke around when contract is up :celestial3:

That 40 million number was not confirmed,  think we should wait for an accurate number

also, Lisa did not carry the tour, what we're not gonna do is discredit all the girls, there would be no tour without any of them. We’re not gonna diminish or minimize ANY of the girls efforts

especially when I can pull up clips of all the girls giving them all. That one gif y’all keep circulating isn’t an indication of their entire 9 months on tour

like, let’s respect all 4 women. No one is more important or special than any other

BP fandom is bigger than all of these combined sis, what an out of touch comparison lol. And SNSD fandom is very loyal, we’re still supporting them till this day.

Truly the end of an era if RV and BP end up disbanding. In RV’s case, Irene is 32 and might be prioritising other things in her life right now especially with her options being limited in the entertainment industry.

But she went on Bubble yesterday and said how she has training so I hope that was a lil reassurance. I just want at least two full album’s from them (one this year and one for their anniversary next year) and I’ll be fulfilled.

Aside from BP being over the music industry (Jennie/Jisoo) they literally have no reason to sign back with YG. Like at all lmao and for their most focal member to be getting lowballed speaks volumes.

Honestly 3rd gen could’ve lasted much longer as the top groups are all still successful but ultimately if there’s other things that these women want to do in life then we can’t blame them.
