Heck, SM's upcoming girl groups have already been delayed once. If aespa can progress into something huge, it's not just the old groups who'll be getting shoved aside. That’s not how things work. Do you see HYBE benching LSF just because New Jeans are currently #1? Groups are only coming back twice a year and it’s way more profitable to have multiple active girl groups than to try and rely on just one. Look at how YG holds BlackPink, currently the biggest overall GG, yet JYP consistently has the biggest years for GGs just because they’re managing 6 comebacks per year

I was never able to connect with RV the same way as I did with TWICE & BP, so RV disbanding wouldn’t really affect me tbh.
CrisPop Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 If Irene leaves SM it won’t be because she’s over the group, more like the company. She loves the group and being in it. Just go check videos from their last tour. She had a great time.
OrgVisual Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 No one wants to wake up to the news I woke up to this morning. No one. I was preparing my coffee, turning on wi-fi and the first thing I read is: “Irene leaves SM”. I blinked my eyes countless times and I went on Facebook just to see more and more posts about it. I couldn’t believe it. My Red Velvet dream was over and there I was at 8AM sitting in my kitchen looking at the screen of my iPhone. I know this may sound a bit too much but… Yes. Tears started falling from my eyes and they wouldn’t stop. I don’t consider this to be an over dramatic reaction like many of you could easily consider. I look at it as unconditional love, dedication and passion. Something unexplainable, no one can translate love into words or even admiration. Some people get your attention and you don’t know why. And while I am fully aware that Red Velvet are not over, they’re just down to four, I also am aware that it’s never going to be the same. It doesn’t matter if it is Irene or Seulgi or Wendy or Joy or Yeri. It doesn’t. I saw this girlgroup being born when they were just five little girls. A few years later they turned into strong and confident women and extremely inspirational. They brought the term “girlgroup” back in the music industry and scored two of the biggest hits of this new decade. I was obsessed and extremely proud of it. 7
