I don't have hopes for anything spectacular from the SKZ performance tonight if only because they've been on tour and haven't really had an opportunity to dedicate themselves to preparing anything huge

One of my first Kpop girl groups:heart:

Mothers, Icons, Legends. Having one of the best and most acclaimed Kpop albums in history(Reboot)! Having one of the first hits Kpop songs to start the 2nd Gen Hallyu wave(Nobody). And breaking into the west before all y’all faves started to do it and sell Thier souls for tragic English collab singles🤭:wanda:The way they made the best girls night out anthem in Kpop still to this day!

Everyone in this top 10 has a U.S. label except Red Velvet

SM's incompetence never fails

Blackpink literally managed to do a brand new show for their Coachella perfomance in the middle of the Born Pink tour

I'm pretty sure Stray Kids could prepare at least something for their 3-4 minute perfomance

Wasn't Coachella just a rehashed version performances they've already done?

I'm talking about a Knee snake or Gaga paparazzi level VMA performance here, not a Blackpink performance

No? They had new instrumentals, dancebreaks, outfits, new stage etc

Spoiler

But if you're actually expecting a snake or paparazzi level from a kpop group you're kinda setting yourself up

New groups haven't been serving at award shows lately AT ALL with a few exceptions

The fact that SKZ flew directly from Japan to the US yesterday after their concert, since they have an ongoing Dome tour over there, like how the hell did they have the time to prepare this VMA's performance?

Blackpink's performance at last year's VMAs was a sloppy mess so the bar for kpop at the VMAs is currently OnTheGround.mp3

This list is not overall US streams, but only US monthly listeners though

It could’ve been cute for Stray Kids to perform FAM since it introduces each member one by one — and is exactly the absolute smash the VMA locals would eat up tonight

So you're saying that right now people listen to BoyNextDoor more than IVE?

FLOWER flopping should tell you enough about how americans have no taste :flower:

I have a bad feeling that TXTxAnitta will be a snooze fest.

I don't think bang pd realizes BTS is a once in a lifetime thing.

Just make catchy music and the fans will come with it, stop with the boring azz collab's.

Stray kids will obviously have the loudest crowd and fan chants on their side.

All the payola and shady tweets will age terribly. :intoit:

Why did TXT and Stray Kids have to debut in the VMAS with such awful songs  :skull:
