That’s because half of the boy groups are all just units of one group that exist only because SM resented their artists getting too powerful and wanted to have an interchangeable group of boys that they could change up whenever they wanted without fans getting upset. Now we’re cursed with NCT.

 

I think you have this weird idea that I like SM’s boy groups but I only liked a handful of TVXQ songs and like 1-2 SHINee/EXO songs. I’m also the biggest SuJu hater.

 

Still, there is no bigger example of a clone group than BlackPink (though G-IDLE is a close second). They even remade the member line-up, except they replaced their Dara with a Seohyun.

Nobody is getting anywhere in the U.S. or on global Spotify without payola unless the song goes viral on TikTok or the label spends a fortune on playlisting. The U.S. is stuck in 2003 all over again - the “hits” are all being paid for by big labels and nobody in my country has ever heard of any of these songs. Spotify just joined a coalition to try and stop it since it was revealed these manipulated streams are funding child trafficking…but then they officially announced their own platform-sanctioned payola with Discovery Mode.

It’s exactly why SM annoys me so much. Singing a song in English doesn’t matter if you don’t pay for promotion. And no, youtube ads aren’t good promotion in 2023. SM is going to continue driving Aespa into the ground and wasting their image. If you’re going to force them to sing English at least get them playlisting. Better Things would have been a great visual concept for Aespa with an actual comeback. Not this English track no one cares about

the choreo is so energetic, idk how soloists can do such full-on choreo and still have their microphone on... at least in a group you're not singing the whole time so you have a bit of time to recover before your next line but if you're singing live as a soloist with full on energetic choreo there's no recovery time at all

SNSD the boys had a better English rollout then what SM is trying with Aespa and soon NCT America

It’s kinda insane how SM was at the forefront of Hallyu global expansion and now they are the butt of every joke because they don’t know how to do simple & Timely promo. The Good Morning America performance should have been at the start of the summer alongside Gov Ball. And they should have dropped Better things as a single months ago when Cupid & Bluebeards Wife Boom Boom was viral on reels and TT.  Like maybe right after Spicy promo ended but before the tour. Might as well use the algorithm while you can. Not at the end of summer when schools started back up. Now there is an actors strike so they can’t go on night shows or have conventional promo. Then let them rest during fall and have a Korean comeback at the end of the year. Instead of working nonstop all year but still having a messy ass schedule
