They were so ahead of their time. Imagine a transgender Kpop group, the representation we almost had.

 

They debuted in the wrong time, if they exists today. Their going to get all the support from the gays and beyond

Good to know that all of the girls from Sixteen are thriving one way or another. The only one who went away was Minyoung. She did come back to Korea and tried her luck on YouTube but couldn’t do much. Such a waste because she was a VOCALIST! Hope she’s doing well now in whatever she’s doing in life.

While NewJeans does share DNA with F(x) and previous MHJ-produced groups, lately they are reminding me of Twice circa 2016.

 

Something about the cute concept, cheerleader vibe and national popularity, even the ballooning number of male fans. And the repetitive chorus, catchy point choreo and virality of Super Shy gives me Gee/Oh-era SNSD too. They are truly the kpop formula boiled down to its pop essence.
