That they have too many girls born in the '90s will be the biggest barrier to them being able to draw in new fans beyond the fans of the groups the girls come from.  And many of the fans of the groups they come from have retired, themselves.

Nvm I just realized that they both debuted in 2018 alongside stray kidz 

 

It's crazy how young these groups are bcz I remember kpop timelines in terms of exo comebacks

 

Skz/Gidle/ateez debuted in the same year that we got an ot8 album from exo this **** is crazy....

Even blackpink had DDDD releasing just 4 months before them.... That song changed the trajectory of their careers and kpop in general.

They both debuted in 2018 which was when 4th gen officially started, and they were part of the 1st wave of 4th gen groups aka 3.5 gen.

 

(2018) - 1st wave of 4th gen: SKZ, GIDLE, ATEEZ, IZ*ONE, LOONA, The Boyz.

I don't really see the issue of SM putting effort for the visual teasers of their upcoming eng single? it's not like their gonna run out of ideas for their Korean releases when the girls already stated everything has been planned out
