I'm not going to laugh at Somi's sales because

a.) She gave me my gay kpop life with Fast Forward

b.) Jihyo is releasing this week and I'll reserve all dragging for after those numbers come out lest I open her up for lashings.

Yeah Somi just needs to be promoted more and have more comebacks and definitely go on tour. Her serving gay leaning pop bops should definitely be her lane. I say she is one kpop solo act that can easily crossover. We are long overdue for a global solo kpop act and I think Somi is a great contender for that. CL and Chungha are worthy kpop global contenders

Not everything has to be a competition like can't yall just celebrate everyone's success without comparing so annoying

their concert last night was far from sold out though

At the end of the day they're still booked and busy, pretty, popular, successful and in demand why the need to shade em?

Cube gave us Beast. And they were just under Big 3. They were competing with SHINee for years. And 4Minute is self explanatory, Hyuna alone was bigger then the entirety of most mid tier Kpop groups :gaydonnacat1:

Apink had a cute run, but failed to fill the Snsd 2012 hiatus gap. Then Gfriend happen🤭 Apink could have definitely been bigger cuz they had like 2 nation wide Smash hits.

CLC is forgotten and weren’t big to begin with. Pentagon had that one viral song and people thought they could be rivals to ikon and Winner and some other 3rd Gen boy groups. But they kinda fell off and idk what even happen to them.

But to be fair they did have BTOB, Beast & 4Minute. They were crucial to 2nd & 3rd Gen. And G-idle is smashing alongside 4th Gen record breaking leaders. I’m actually still shocked how big QueenCard was this year. I wasn’t expecting them to have one of the Song of the summer.

Off the top of my head there was EXO, BTS, Seveteen, NCT, Ikon, Wannaone, B.A.P, Winner, and Got7:coffee2:

Somi’s effortless solo charisma and starpower was kinda visible here. She needs that one crossover hit to truly be a global popstar. She has got all the goods for it.

They were Exo’s rivals at debut

it might sound weird now, but back then it was true.  I was an EXO-L and best absolute definitely were big for a group that wasn’t SM, JYP or YG! The fanwars were crazy. And they were one of the first 3rd Gen to get international fandom as big as Big 3 groups

But January/February means the tickets will start to be sold soon

Going to São Paulo for The Eras is already killing me financially

I already have that user muted cause despite them claiming to be a MY, they never miss a chance to either shade or try to humiliate aespa for some reason

Also you got to remember this was a decade ago. No one was expecting B.T.S of all groups to blow up to where they are now. Back in 2012/2013 EXO and Bap were seen as the next big thing after Big Bang/Suju. Tbh Bap and BTS earlier concepts weren’t really that different

B.A.P has one of the best discographies in K-pop. I wish I was a Kpop stan when they were more active, but I could only follow their three 2017 comebacks :deadbanana2:
