But pre releases usually get the most hype though? Dynamite was the pre release to Be and Pink Venom was the pre release to Born Pink, both did better than Life Goes On and Shut Down respectively. 

 

The fans blow their metaphorical load on the first single that comes out. Unless V's later songs go viral somehow, I don't expect them to do better than these two.

set me free is the worst BTS solo song ever released, literally anything would do better than it. 

 

I just don't think V is the kind of person to release bops. Almost all his self-released solo songs so far are snoozy ballads like Winter Bear. It shouldn't surprise anyone that he's making coffee shop music, just like it shouldn't surprise anyone that Jungkook is releasing Bieber-esque pop.
