We can clearly blame the prices. You can buy 3 Twice albums for the price of one BP album. The streaming unites were good. However compared to the absolute massive slayage and arguably best kpop roll out of all time that was The Album, Born Pink is NOTHING.

Not even mentioning the level of subpar that album is.

Born Pink was not only discounted to 4.99 for extra sales, but YG bought major ad space and called it "The new discounted album" :rip:

Yall always bring up the price of the launch version as if there wasn't a billion options added that were cheaper to boost sales (which was also the only reason they got the #1 after projection, btw!)

Is this physicals only or digitals included? I can't speak on other groups but a lot of the aespa numbers floating around on twitter even from My accounts are wrong.

A twice fan coming after bp well deserved #1 is funny like the streaming units were bigger then anything twice has seen sit down :giraffe:

No one in their right mind would release Pink Venom as a lead single for a global sensation coming off a 2 year break.

It‘s so jarring and left field yet too familiar no western artist would touch that with a ten foot pole as their COMEBACK song…Let alone send it to top 40???? :deadbanana2: And I say that as a til I die PV defender. Love that song (even more than Shut Down).

But the amount of times I see non kpop fans reference Shut Down as the best kpop song they ever heard makes me so mad. That song is 70% english anyways…like they couldve made it fully english and have a smash on their hands

kiii we're so opposite, pink venom is the only highlight for me (yeah yeah yeah was cute tho!)

YG needs to do something fast or the Pinks record will be destroyed with the next NJ comeback specially if it’s a full album :giraffe:

but honestly if Blackpink comeback it probably will be next year :gaycat7:

NJ is not a threat to bp honestly y’all can attack me:giraffe:

I just can’t see it, BP3 will be doing crazy numbers on debut alone

"I'm not like these other girls at all"

Jennie changed it to "not like the nother boys at all" for Coachella which lyrically makes NO sense but at least it‘s not as bad as the OG 😭

Im not coming after anything, congrats to the #1. But it doesn't change the fact that first week projections were low and YG released the kraken on extra versions the day of its first week projections. :giraffe:

like I said PV is a career highlight and the best "4D iteration" for me. But as a lead single? naur

regarding YYY tho…biggest piece of retail store radio trash I‘ve ever heard in my live. An embarrassment.

Digitals included.

Aespa have sold 4,756,901 physicals, moved 3.2B digital Circle points (533M verified streams), 1.26B Spotify and ~1.21B YouTube. They’re one of the lowest acts in terms of title tracks and physical releases.

I can do breakdowns for the other girls, too. It doesn’t matter too much because ITZY will be back to #1 on 8/9 and then IVE will snatch them in October.

It's just so obvious in 2023 where the 2 groups lie and which group did better in which market and who had the bigger hits each year, etc. Both are million seller stadium acts with massive domestic and international hits. Both stomped in Korea, one stomped in Japan, the other stomped in the US. The Stinks need to stop living in the past where that wasn't all true.

Even better: They shouldnt manage artists period  Cant convince me they all wouldnt be even bigger if managed by a better company
I guess you have to give them credit in their recruitment department (or they simply got lucky with BB/BP) but thats it :deadbanana4: Their promo, schedules etc are just the worst by far
And large groups are not it imo, i stan TWICE now but them being 9 members made it hard to stan at first. 4-6 members is perfect.

The fact that they shoot some Born pink teasers in April and yet they rushed the era

:rip:

If BP leaves YGE will start debuting more artists, getting more comebacks too, they better stop being annoying and start getting come backs with a decent frequency, all big companies have enough trainees to debut more than one boy and a girl group each, and then there's TBL

It’s taking them almost 1 year to debut Baemon :deadbanana4:. BP Isn’t the problem.

the way they had the nerve to put a the album leftover and rosé leftover (htl is nice but still) on born pink :skull:

a literal nightmare!

and when those basic shut down teaser pics of the white garage came out and we were so sure that the garage door would open to some amazing outdoor set :skull:

one year later it's really clear how much YG ****** up and how little money they spent

like the VMA performance will forever be iconic and I love it to death

but it was a cheap performance... when we were so sure that "yg would go all out for it as they always do" :hoetenks:

The fact that their performance at les pièces jaunes was better than their VMA :dies:! Their performances are always better when they use an hand mics

And yeah HTL had no business being in the album. It should have been kept for R solo or it should have been a group song!

Shut down is one of their best TT but the mv is their worst :deadbanana4:! Could you imagine if they filmed the mv in a manoir/ Opera in Italy :toofunny3:

This is the wrong aespa number that's floating around that I was referring to. That's just Korean units and it's an old number at that. They've done another 150k+ in Japan and another 120k+ in the US. They're well above 5m at this point. It's hard to find totals for them in countries outside of Korea other than 1st week numbers and I don't get why because other bases don't have that issue but if you want the full non-twitter receipts for the Japan and US figures I'm estimating DM me sis. :bird:

Didn't alcohol free and Pop! get like 300m points each? Twice's peak was years before BP's in Korea but they're still doing okay enough.

I'm not even a Once though, you have the wrong one
