Arguing over who was more relevant abroad when both groups were selling in the 4 digit range in the US makes no sense against the millions and millions of sales both groups brought in in Korea though and in that discussion IATB isn't even a top 3 2NE1 song. We love NewJeans for shaking the kpop industry up but we’ll miss the old mindless, shamelessly cringe + fun kpop if everyone started releasing understated english language vibey music like they do. (Speaking only for people that were kpop stans before 2022 though) IVE kinda feels like the last of the old guard of kpop, like the most classically kpop big 4th gen group out rn.
