SandyJeans Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 the production on Cool With You and then the transition to Get Up when we get H.E.R. or SZA writing credits on the next album
FACT Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 All the songs work so well together as an album This is their most cohesive work yet despite the length
kokonk Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 eta's chorus needs a little more oomph. feels a bit bare otherwise even with the instrumental. love everything else about it

Gee also outsold and outcharted IATB internationally so what are we even doing here😭Gee wins in every official metric at the end of the day anyways And IATB out does The Boys pretty much everywhere, that’s obvious The delulu cause IATB is out streaming on yt Spotify, and is on the same level of iconic in kpop community yet y’all swear Gee wins in every metric just let it go at least bring the facts not just the crazy stan behavior

We love NewJeans for shaking the kpop industry up but we’ll miss the old mindless, shamelessly cringe + fun kpop if everyone started releasing understated english language vibey music like they do. (Speaking only for people that were kpop stans before 2022 though) IVE kinda feels like the last of the old guard of kpop, like the most classically kpop big 4th gen group out rn. kpopers are trying to be cult right now so the new trend is saying IVE doing fun unpretentious bops = generic garbage NJ and IVE queens 2
lgaga1fan Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 I was really excited for this NewJeans and preordered a physical copy but I'm not really gagging

I am the best was nowhere near as big Gee single alone outsold 2NE1’s entire EP Physically and digitally 😆 Not you using Spotify and YouTube when they had the whole nation listening to it nonstop. IATB was definitely a hit, but it wasn’t a cultural reset or as big🤷♀️ I don't know where you are from or if you lived under a rock IATB was huge in LATAM, even in the United States it was played in different commercials, promos, the song and the video was so important that it allowed 2ne1 to have its "international" tour. I even remember how several artists plagiarized the video and the song, YG had to take legal action
FACT Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 ASAP is their most camp song I wish it was 5 minutes 2 1

I just had to clock that user real quick with facts🤭 I am the best wasn’t even as big here as Kpop fans think. Some users think we Americans were acting like it was Gangnam style, when really only niche Kpop fandoms knew it. Gee was actually selling millions of physical copies internationally. That’s the difference. I am the best didn’t start a viral dance craze across multiple continents. Gee did. That was my original point. Edited July 21, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9 1

Wasn't IATB literally a commercial CF Song worldwide, people tends to forget that the song was on TV 24/7 at one point, even tho it doesn't retranslate in sale or streaming. But this clearly impacted and was more known than the niche kpop fans, people are trying to paint the song for. 1
lgaga1fan Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 ETA is one of my favorite songs released this year tho. Love the clown car chase vibes.
dlwlrma Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 (edited) Gee is more important to the kpop/hallyu community. It's the song that capture the kpop's essence (at least when we talk about the big super ultra smashs, Sherlock is the top#1 general when we count moderate hits). The classic, mostly for us hags that remain devoted to the genre. Meanwhile IATB indeed was big outside our bubble, playing in clubs with BigBang songs. It was also the safe pick when we wanted to show our friends some kpop. it's a hard choice I just can say that I like gee gee baby more Edited July 21, 2023 by dlwlrma 2
