The fact that their contract is expiring and they are maybe disbanding soon with only 40 songs and that includes every solo, collab, feauture etc. The way I used to be a hardcore Blink when I first got into Kpop in 2020, just for me to never experience a comeback with them, before I moved on and discovered other groups I still love them though especially Jisus Nayeon can't relate

She’s not the best dancer or vocalist People hyped this girl up because she was like an ex Ador trainee She can’t sing Her dance is carried by panned reviews What did she serve exactly? At least Ruka can sing and stand out This girl she is just there They only use her to drag NewJeans How is that gonna last when the show is a bomb Kpop fans really like to embarrass themselves on internet
Pluto6 Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) Jungkook making these numbers shows that he can become bigger than BTS if he goes solo cause mainstream music prefers soloists rather than groups + he's also a very established music act already Edited July 15, 2023 by Pluto2022
ItsJustMe. Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 I figured a JK solo would do well but I didn’t expect him to do so much better than all his other members

Come on SM take the risk like the last time you did with Soshi for Genie and Chocolate Love when everyone else's were doing girl crush concepts
ItsJustMe. Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 I applaud you guys for still getting so invested in new GG trainee shows I feel like there’s so many popular new GGs now that are good that these shows don’t really pull me in anymore the BG industry still has to be saved tho! 1

I think in the end it's all about releasing good and accessible music. Suga, RM, JHope's music is too niche. Sukjin released a snooze. Also fans can't see how much money was poured into marketing & promotions. I bet JK's marketing budget is like 10x more than the other ones
jqnetto Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 JK won the streams battle, but J-Hope still has the best BTS solo music

But I agree he deserved more lines on their breakthrough hit other than an onomatopoeia on the chorus. About Scars... at least he delivered in ALL IN

K-pop groups do not do well on AM US in general. BP's highest peak remains #18 Sour Candy, BTS peak is #27 Dynamite and #51 Butter. Other singles have cracked top150-200 for a day or two and left the chart. Even big fanbase isn't enough to keep song charting on AM US for relatively short time. The difference between AM US and Spotify US for k-pop will always be there because it is niche genre and AM US is used by totally different demographic and is dominated by hip-hop artists. Pop girls that do well there are big, household names. Super Shy peaked at 37 on AM US Pop and there is like 15 Taylor's new songs ahead of it. It isn't surprising that it didn't enter Top200 All Genre. Ofc, they do not have big US fanbase, but that doesn't mean K-pop stans or casual listeners do not stream it. Super Shy is gaining traction on TikTok (130k videos currently and half was gained in last 3 days) despite Youtube Shorts exclusive challenge and promotions. YT Shorts videos have 23M, 16M, etc views. It also went viral on Twitter among locals. I can link multiple tweets. Not to mention, it has playlisting, which means new listeners, more streams and less filtering. Just because you haven't heard a song irl, don't know how it is doing on other platforms, just have vague impressions and baseless assumptions, doesn't mean it isn't actually doing well and is popular among people. - aespa SPICY #176-OUT on Spotify 1 1
