At the end of day. Spotify isn't the only indicator to determine one's success.  An average idol would rather have a #1 Song on Melon and tour to see their fans than having cute streams in a platform that is irrelevant in their home country.

First of all Spotify is not just a cute little platform :rip: Like you can’t compare MelOn with Spotify, and even SM knows that. One is local streaming service while the other is a global one.

If Spotify and global streams doesn’t matter that much then why did aespa neglect Korea and went straight to promote in the US DURING THEIR PEAK domestically and released an English song etc. which btw took a huge blow to the group’s domestic career.
And they are know releasing a fully English album in a few months as well, which shows that they want to make numbers globally (as they should)

SM have always been the most desperate company out of the Big 4 to make it in the West and that’s a known fact

They went for that cute Billboard record :gaycat2:

I don't like that company at all but you might give that to JYP like who puts kpop groups in fox shows. I'm sorry but  :bibliahh:

I REALLY hope Jennie won't suffer the same fate as Girls' Generation's Yuri thanks to The Idol

kwon-yuri-yuri.gif

Spoiler

(For those who don't know, Yuri was the it-girl in 2009-2010 thanks to her crazy body, key parts in Genie and Oh!, and her insane off and on stage charisma, but she literally lost her it-girl status overnight thanks to her starring in this flop movie)

I saw some stuff from netizenbuzz and they're already destroying her, but they always choose the most sketch articles. Does anyone know how they're responding to Jennie's role in South-Korea?
