I also feel like the Big 3 have probably made pact with each other about not taking in any ex Big 3 Idols, cause it wouldn't look good for a company if their rival company ends up snatching one of their idols. Like imagine if Baekhyun or Taeyeon migrated to YG, it could give the public the idea that YG is specifically better than SM etc., and we all know how the Big 3 companies always present themselves as the leading company of Kpop.

You think Big 3 agencies made a deal together ?

But They also love to push the SM/JYP/YG and now Hybe family thing so I guess it could be possible.

I found my exemple btw: Somi!

She left JYP but for TBL, not YG.

It's not a pact, it's that they get first choice of kids looking to audition.  Why bother with someone's sloppy seconds when bestest fresh meats is constantly being delivered at slave contract prices?

JK is trying to look like this guy that was in a group years ago, then went solo and performs at some gigs/festivals, don't remember his name, but he has many tattoos and long hair, and praised BP for their Coachella performance recently..

but to be honest it makes sense even blockberry asked Chuu's ATRP company for them to refuse to sign more Loona members, so it's like a pact

Those kind of companies aren't getting first choice -- they're fighting for scraps!

But I’m talking about popular idols only! For exemple, when they left SM none of the Snds girls signed into a big 3 company despite being popular! Somi didn’t sign to YG but only TBL , no one big agency tried to sign Kang Daniel either, despite him being the most popular Wanna one member etcc…

SM contracts probably have non-compete clauses (maybe JYP and YG do as well). If you leave their label you will be restricted even after you leave.

See Jessica, Luna, Amber, Tiffany, Sooyoung etc. They all released music but can't promote on music shows after leaving SM, because the contract probably blocks that. So instead they promoted in other markets (Jessica in China, Tiffany in U.S. etc.) or switched to acting (Krystal, Sooyoung, Seohyun etc.). The same would happen to Taeyeon if she left.

Somi is different because she was still under a trainee contract at JYP, she never debuted, so she could transfer. The big 3 agencies trade trainees quite often.

I love Kyungsoo, he also have my favorite tone in Exo but no way you think he’s better than Baekhyun

He absolutely is. There’s no denying Baekhyun’s extensive range, but from a technical perspective, Kyungsoo has him beat. There’s a reason Kyungsoo did most of the carrying during a chunk of their rookie years. That is, until Baekhyun proved himself to be more reliable (he continues to receive vocal lessons so I’m sure that helped a ton).

Chen - good

Kyungsoo - proficient

Bakehyun - above average/lower proficient range

I considered this, but they probably don't put language like that because they've never needed to, and it could come back to bite them during any sort of legal/arbitration proceedings.

Kinda like with Exo, when half of them ran away to China, SM realized they needed to sharpen their contracts a bit.  It's going to take something crazy for them to change how they did things.  And with the Saudi money funds investing in kpop, maybe crazy is coming!

Hmm maybe...but it hasn't stopped SM in the past...

My suspicion is that they do have something like that in their contracts to restrict artist activities after leaving, for precisely this reason...it's along the same lines as them being desperate to always lock in their idols for 10 years+ even if it requires very shady methods and loopholes to achieve it. Something we most recently saw yet again with EXO-CBX's disputes this year.

Also the fact that we have basically never seen ex-SM idols promote on music shows or have wide scale promotion supports it, regardless of whether the idol left on good or bad terms.

I can't think of a single example, whereas for YG and JYP there are examples (Minzy, Sunmi etc)
