ok??? Money has 746M streams and Left & Right has 644M streams, even if they aren't megasmashes they're definitely both hits. And regarding Like Crazy, I was just comparing it to Flower because according to blinks its some kind of smash but BTS solos are apparently flops. If Like Crazy is a flop then Jisoo and Rosé's solos are flops too

KTRL don’t know the difference between a Hit and a Smash There have literally been dozens of global Viral Kpop Hit songs since 2009. And it’s not just nostalgia talking, it’s literal fact. Ever since the first credited Viral international Single Gee by SNSD.  A single that actually was a Smash across mainland China, South East Asia, and Japan. Charting without Fandom influence internationally. The general public actually listen to it globally because it was a trend on YouTube and the first ever Kpop MV to have the most views at the time. There have obviously been others, but I’m using my fav cuz they jump started Hallyu beyond just Japan. Same with Gangnam style here in America in 2012💀there was no Psy Stan’s manipulating billboard to chart. The song was an actual Smash due to it trending globally. BTS & BlackPink have multiple hits and smashes. To say otherwise would just be a lie. But fans are kinda delusional thinking some of these hits are as big of smashes, or General public played/Known singles. Also people act like the US, Korea and Japan are the entire world😭

It's not about the streams. I was basing it on how if you play a song to a random person on the street whether they'll recognise it or not, actual popularity. I think a lot more people will recognise Money than Left and Right. And why only Spotify, I don't get it. It may be the biggest music streaming platform in the world but it's users aren't even 10% of the world's population. It's mostly only used in certain markets and it's only representative of that. It doesn't give a proper gauge of how popular a song is worldwide. YouTube is still a lot bigger.

 

Mass streaming on Spotify still happens, how else do you think Stray Kids had 70 million streams last week. Those streams may not show on the Spotify charts but they're still counted for the song.
