Jimin has a rival :deadbanana4:

Not him thinking he nailed it :bibliahh:

The main difference was Felix wasn't labeled as vocalist at the first place while Jimin being positioned as vocalist despite knowing the fact that he can't go higher note after a certain threshold.

Both situations are funny tbh. Felix obviously can’t be labeled anything but he has a tag of …..rapper I think (?) because well that’s what they give the talentless ones.
And Jimin is a good dancer but he’s the “vocalist” when JK, Jin and V sing better than him :dies:

it's probably because aespa's comeback has been delayed several times and was supposed to come out october/november last year before all the delays :rip:

Do we know when AESPA is making their comeback?

The problem was his priority would be rather spend time with his 3 cats rather than hussle like Bang Chan and release solo music or whatever.

The way both Lee Know and Bang Chan has both talents + the visuals + being very popular, like they are ticking all the right boxes :jonny5:Which is why I see the potential if they both debut solo :clap3:

The payola accusations are funny because SM clearly planned Life's Too Short to be that breakout English single and it ended up flopping pretty much everywhere :rip:

HOT is doing well because it's perfect. It's in English, yes, but there's somewhat fair line distribution & you can actually hear/understand what they're saying. No nonsensical lyrics (ie: you make me feel me good :rip:) and the glitchcore sound fits their whole brand perfectly. The mental gymnastics in here cause they finally no longer fit the 'Spotify poison' label like this thread was insisting for months.

britdance.gif

Yeah HOT fits with their whole cyberpunk aesthetic. A friend of mine who HATES KPOP because of the language barrier sent me that song and was like does their music sound like this, I sent him BLACK MAMBA and he was like 💀 who are these girls because he was impressed

That was a random MNEK demo that SM probably already bought for the Girls mini and decided to record an English version of bc the demo was English and it didn't sound Kwangya'd. It was more a show of good faith with the Warner deal than a huge US debut.

Aespa has still yet to debut in the United States. Girls was not a debut and HOT getting minor radio play and much better playlisting than anything they've seen yet is more in line with how we should expect to see them going forward, with the added possibility of a full scale BP/Twice push down the road if SM doesn't interfere.

AESPA are more than capable of being the next big kpop girl group to breakout and be global forces like BLACKPINK

Also what are the odds that these fellow K-Popstars get an international push as well because they have IT: Jeon Somi, Chung Ha, CL, Alexa, Sunmi, Solar and Youha?

Speaking of when the **** is Jeon Somi making a comeback 😟

Word on the street is that Black Pink isn't actually going to be the last act on Saturday. It's gonna be an interesting weekend:ducky:

For what? I know that we just got Jisoo's solo but can we expect a BP comeback this year?

I think aespa has more niche appeal than somebody like newjeans and might become a 4th gen Red Velvet(but much bigger) like the act that kpop stans really like and always stay relevant but not necessarily the #1 leader.

Somi: Probably not coming anytime soon because the Black Label/Teddy has much higher priority English music. Most likely though out of the names you listed.

Chungha: Can't even get her Korean music released and has been flopping for a while. Second most likely though because she has the most broad appeal.

CL: Alpha was a lowkey retirement album but neither her or her other 5 remaining fans other than me are ready to admit it.

Alexa already kinda had a push from that attempted US eurovision knockoff and got a mild streaming bump

Sunmi debuted in 2007, dont see her wanting to grind like that ever again, especially with how WG's US activities lead to her leaving the group for years.

All Mamamoo members are kinda limited in the US because of their racist scandals constantly looming, they'd never be able to pull off a big promo campaign without other bases sabotaging.

idk about Youha

I mean Teddy always find a way to be credited on the Pinks works. When I saw he got credits on SG, it’s when I knew :toofunny3:

The girls as a group need to work with DJ Snake again and YG needs to stop blocking them from creating and releasing with other people. The way that we would've been had mad collaborations like Tiesto, Zedd, Steve Aoki and Mark Ronson if he just let these girls work!

No hate to red velvet but that is so insulting lol  :deadbanana4:  aespa already have the biggest fandom out of every 4th gen gg and are well known. They just need their actual breakout single in the west.  Hold on Tight can 100% be it but SM/Warner are paying it dust :rip:

They already are selling albums in america (only gg other than Twice and BP to reach top 5) and sold the same amount of copies as 127's biggest album

Youha is not even that well known among Kpop fans but she deserves to be pushed more in Korea itself, such great music and she's really talented compared to Kpop idols.

Wish she had big company support after she left YG, she really deserves it.

The taste jumped OUT! I would love for her to break out in a big way, but as of rn I just think its unlikely given that she doesn't have any big backing. This was highkey the best retro/disco song we got out of the trend in the past few years:

+ her recent EP was flawless with 10/10s across the board

RV has more more hits and psycho/ bad boy ate bigger than any Aespa’s song WW

They will have hype especially if Le Sserafim doesn't smash and have too much attention, assuming they will be releasing in the next month. SM usually goes all out with Aespa's teasers and if they do it well now, there will be hype. And Aespa can sing which isn't common among the popular girl groups these days so they'll be fine.

Mine too.

I need AESPA to comeback now I am seeing them for Governor's Ball this June so I hope that their new album has dropped by then

Yes to psycho but idk about bad boy :skull: Since aespa's fandom are bigger they just need the breakout with the casual listeners which is currently happening with HOT

I mean Red Velvet have some songs over 12m units WW so it wasn't the drag you think it was. I think aespa will serve a similar role but in a generation where GGs are doing literally more than 10x the sales. Their concept is kinda narrow rn and I see that limiting their reach outside of the stan world.  Then again the 2 biggest 3rd gen acts just made the loudest, most repetitive noise they could and it worked for them so maybe aespa has a shot. :cm:

Also I'm almost 100% sure SM is sabotaging HOT and Warner has their hands tied bc of it.

Rosé wasn't even doing coke, but some of the dramatic reactions in here to that pic are making me laugh

Wait til u guys realise half the ppl u know do coke on the regular

While coke may be common doesn't mean that many people one knows may be on them. Let's not normalize coke usage now. Just because it's the equivalent to gum in the industry.

Part of the gag with Rose is that Blinks are notorious for parading around obviously fake/exaggerated scandals and using it as an excuse to use slurs against other idols. Even drug scandals in particular.

There's a lot of fake outrage Blinks have used as a weapon that's coming back to them currently. :bunny:

OT: Has Rose checked into that rehab facility yet? Hopefully her erratic coked out behavior doesn't come out at Coachella for the 2nd time. There's a lot more eyes on them now than there was 4 years ago. :doc:

Do you have any guesses why? and I bet SM will be the first to brag about it's achievements (that's if they even acknowledge it)
