Disgusting comments :biblio:

Did you expect a Catholic Pope to have rainbow flags at the Vatican or something?

Grow up!

RIP

We would expect him to spread “love and kindness” and not cover up pedophilia and call gays a “threat to world peace”.

Rest in hell you corrupted croak. I hope the world will see the horrible things he did someday.

This came to light recently and wasn't really affiliated with his resignation, no?

He didn't resign, he never abdicated. He was still the legitimate pope until his unfortunate death, look it up. After John Paul II, there were big shoes to fit and they decided to give the role to someone more marketable, no matter if he's the anti-Christ. But Benedict never stopped being the pope.

Oh okay thanks

Reminder that Pope Benedict XVI was a rotten man who was outraged by the life-saving abortion of a 9 yo girl who was raped by her stepfather and proceeded to exocommunicate the family and doctors for carrying out the abortion.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Benedict stopped being the Pope the minute his resignation took effect. The reason why he kept the title of “pope” was only for honorary reasons which is why “emeritus” was added to his new title.

He did not resign. He never did. He suffered the injustice of usurpation, and he remained the only legitimate Pope until his death. And for true Catholics, no impostor ever took his place.

Nah, I'm not part of the crowd that blindly accepted Bergoglio as the new leader of the Church instead of just seeing him as the usurper he is. Please read this.

Quote

Then came February 11, 2013, [...] when Benedict read the "Declaratio", a text written by himself in Latin. A few minutes later, at 11:42, Ansa broke the news of the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, which in a few minutes went around the world.

From the outset, however, Ratzinger's "Declaratio" aroused various perplexities. The first to question its canonical validity was the journalist Antonio Socci, who focused on some singular inconsistencies, such as the decision to continue wearing the white dress, signing himself Benedict XVI and using the papal papal coat of arms. In the following years it would have been the journalist and art historian Andrea Cionci who would structure the increasingly glaring contradictions of those resignations in the work: "The Ratzinger Code", through which he came to the conclusion that Ratzinger, with that declaration, had not renounced to the papacy, but had been forced to retire to a "Sede impedita", a condition similar to exile well identified by the canonical code.

Thanks to the collaboration of jurists, Latin scholars, theologians and priests such as Don Alessandro Minutella and friar Alexis Brugnolo, Cionci lined up all the inconsistent aspects of those resignations, starting with the form of the Latin text of the "Declaratio", which was later translated with obvious inaccuracies from the Vatican press office, to then move on to the analysis of a code that Pope Benedict allegedly adopted to communicate the truth of his condition to the world. One of the formulas adopted is that of having always said, after the election of José Maria Bergoglio, "There is only one pope", without ever specifying which of the two.

And to all the people slandering this man who stood for years as a sentinel in the night, alone in defense of the House of God (these words are straight from his biography edited by Peter Seewald) need to learn some respect.

Just because he kept the honorary title of Pope and chose to keep wearing white didn’t make him the legitimate Pope. He resigned, a conclave was made which elected Francis. End of story. :celestial5:

He was forced to "resign", for real Catholics he remained the Pope until his passing. May he intercede from heaven for his people left without a guide.
