Schami66 Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 does anyone remember the HUGE backlash when Gaga announced the Born This Way album cover? And then she posted a new cover that was just a cropped part of the og cover? I thought the deluxe cover is sooo much better.

I just watched from the sideline’s aghast at her audacity and gumption, from the textured single cover of Judas, to releasing it on Easter week, to the BTW cover. Whew. Funny would be the last way I describe that nightmare 💀💀💀

GentleEarthquake Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 What in the christian white american girl is that Yours Truly cover
BizarreWizard Posted December 25, 2022 Author Posted December 25, 2022 Also this one just came to mind:
HereInMyHead Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 Madonna's first album was originally going to be called "Lucky Star" and had this cover: However, it got changed to self-titled and had this MUCH better cover for the final release: In Europe, the cover got changed in 1985 after the success of Like a Virgin and was titled "The First Album". The cover and title changed back to the original in 2001. I think the 1983 released version is by far the best.

Things definitely worked out the way they were supposed to. The photo of her on the official “definitive” cover is one of, arguably her most, iconic photo.
Alex Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 tinashe’s aquarius cover change was such a downgrade. RCA’s only correct decision tbh
#Beautiful Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 both dua lipa covers are terrible. my favorite switch is 5h reflection

Never knew they changed... and I even used the O.G. cover image for my own album cover: 5 hours ago, ultimatebritney said: Slay... but it should have been from day one. 5 hours ago, Delirious said: Agreed. Just look at the ******* material. Ellies aesthetics are always on point except for the Brightest Blue era. Moonlight Nation Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 7 hours ago, smartalek22 said: I also think she holds the title for worst cover change To Do correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I'm aware, the first picture was just part of the photoshoot. Sadly, I don't think it was ever announced as a potential album cover, but simply shared alongside other shots to expand on the aesthetic of the era. It's a shame regardless, because it would have made for a killer album cover and fits much better with the Heaven vs. Hell duality in comparison to the rather bland edit we got.
